Sounds like a problem with the capacative discharge circuit on the flux capacitor to me. I'm just guessing though, with the information we have...

the head unit is a kenwood, when i hooked it up everything worked but the stock speakers, it would be fine until i turned the volume to 15 after that the sound would stop until i turned it back down, the car is a 1996 dodge avenger, i checked the wires that came with the unit, and the speaker wires running throw the car nothing is working right.

Check the speaker wires and see if they were reversed (possative hooked into negative and vise versa), that is a common problem useually that causes the amp to cut out at a certain volume so it doesn't blow itself up because of reverse polarity.

Hooking up speaker wires reversed doesn't hurt anyting, They will be out of phase, some high end speakers have switches built into the crossover to switch them for you. Most people won't even notice if one is wired backward.

As for the deck cutting out, check for ground on all your speaker wires. It may be just barely touching ground, so it is only effected when you turn up the volume.

Go over all of your connections and make sure that no wires are touching positive to negitive it happened in my buddies blazer one little positive wire touching the negitive and if you turned it up too much it would cut out untl turned back down:thumbsup:
