Weird question for Alpine decks?

Hey guys. I have the chance to purchase a DVA-7996, but I'd like to know the answer to a question. I'd like the deck to light up like the lights in my dash, so does this version of Alpine light up amber? I've seen pics, and it looks like it might change color on the buttons, but I'd like to know for sure.

Nope, sorry man, but the 7996 only lights up in green. I believe it was the year after the 7996, 9811,9813,9815 were out that they started making it so the buttons could change colour.

However, thats an amazing deck, so I wouldnt pass up that chance.

yeah you are right, my 9811 lights up green and has an option to light up amber (but that is only in tweak mode).. i.e. turning up treb or bass or something (this mode lasts for like 10 sec). Other than that it goes back to green, it is quite stupid actually.

my 9835 has the color changing too

^^^ yes but he was saying his only changes colours when going to the menus... with your 9835 you can change it permanantly.

I got a 9847 and it lights up either green, blue, red, or amber

'only time it will go back to green is if the power dies(battery disconnects or dies)

my 9831 turns 531 different colors :D lol...

you can change your LEDs in your current stereo or have a shop do it so that it lights up the color you like.
