Have to clean out the garage and this is the first to go.
1981 KX125
-last year of the air cooled motor
-first year of the mono shock
-drums both front and rear
Brand New:
-handlebars
-clutch cable
-throttle cable
-0.25mm oversize piston and rings w/ LA sleeve installed
-both grips
-ek gold chain
Rebuilt (never ridden since rebuild)
-motor (new top end and all gaskets replaced)
-carb (new needle valve and a cleaning)
-front forks (new seals and fork boots, 5W oil)
This bike is a bit of a Frankenstein in the respect that is has a 1993 KX125 front fender (direct bolt on) and rear fender (cut up to fit). A 1998 RM 125 silencer, and lastly some Kawi side panel that I cut up and fit on to the l/h side rear number plate.
Bike runs like brand new.
3 minor problems
-front rim has a lil bend in it...still true though
-rear tire is showing signs of sidewall cracking (very minor) just from sitting in my garage for so long
-fuel tank used to leak around mounting holes, i have fixed with thin plastic and expoxy. Doesnt leak anymore.
