My factory size for my lude is 205/55/15 could i go 205/50/15? I know its lower profile tire but doesnt that mean its wider?

It's fine. You can run those tires with no problem.

205 is how wide it is 50 is how thick 15 is how big is the rim :P see

Yes I know that but I remember someone telling me that each measurment is porportiona to being how wide or tall the tires are...

The 205 is the width in milimeters. The 50 means the height is 50% of the width. If you go from 205/55 to 205/50 all you will have is a lower profile tire, the width will be unaffected.

You'll have more wheelgap, which always looks bad. So I wouldn't unless someone is giving you free tires or something.

Your speedometer will read off a little bit, and you'll have slightly worse gas mileage, but slightly better acceleration because of the smaller overal diameter (the same thing as changing gear ratios).
