Looks like everyone is asking about things to do now :)

Anyway Im leaving to SF this weekend, staying downtown...any suggestions on cool things to do there?

And dont say the Wharf, the bridge, or Alcatraz

Good food suggestions are also welcome :)

Alota good info on seasonal events, good dining and alternative things to do besides the obvious stuff.

Make sure you check out Union Sqaure if you want to buy stuff, and Chinatown for sure. SanFran's Chinatown is one of the biggest in North America and theres a lot of cool stuff to check out/do there. Also I forget the name of it, but theres a huge Sony run cinaplex/arcade/technology display downtown as well. Its a pretty cool place to see sony's upcoming technology or just try out some new video games.

Haight Street was cool to hang around, lots of different shopping on that street (not very high end).

Lots of strip clubs on Broadway st.

We didn't check out much restauraunts except for Blowfish, pretty good sushi place. There are tons of great restauraunts there, so look up google for some better recommendations depending on what you want.

yeah you definetely want to watch out doing that in San Fran. You might get "into" something you don't want to be doing. You could also try drifting the crooked street :P.

But seriously I was there this past summer and one of the things we did was just a boat tour around the harbour and you get a nice overview of the entire city other then that most things have been mentioned. Alcatraz and pier 39 are dont misses.

Anyway, head over to Sausalito find a coffee place and just sit. 金門餅家 in SF Chinatown has excellent 蛋撻 Tucker's over in Alameda has great ice cream. Maybe Japantown and see if they have some nice JDM stuff to pick up :D

head towards Vacaville, they have a few outlet stores, it's basically in between San Fran and Sacramento and if you're into wine go check out the vineyards in Napa.
