Need to find info on a 81 Chevy Malibu Classic

I just bought a 81 Chevy Malibu Classic and I was wondering if anyone on the boared knew were I can get some info on it. I went around online and I couldn't really find anything. Any help would be great, thanks guys...

Well there isn't much to be said about those cars. What do you want to know about them, and I'll see what I can recall from memory

I was thinking about getting an upgraded engine, there is only a 267 in there right now. What would you suggest for that? Of even mods for the 267...I'd like to get somethings like better light bulbs, better speakers etc. Nothing to big, I want to keep alot of the car oringinal...

267 straight six? You can hop it up, but I don't know much about those ones. You could get those Malibus with a 302 V8 in them, so you could always try and rustle up the mounts for that and a junkyard small block Chevy and you would have a nice subtle old fast car. SBCs are cheap and you can tune them up however you see fit for any budget and make 450hp on 87 octane if you are clever enough.

Better light bulbs, my guess is that it has the old school sealed bulbs that are really big. Kits exist to convert a lot of those to H4 bulbs and that, or you could just get Sylvania replacements. Better speakers, elemental designs (http://www.edesignaudio.com/ ) or bust.

Go to an auto store and buy one of those manuals, Haynes I believe, all about it. I know Canadian Tire sells some, but I am sure you can find one with some searching.

Yeah I meant headlight bulbs, I highly dout they have HID kits for a 25 year old vehicle. With the speakers do you happen to know what size they are? When it comes to the engine I am going to do some more looking around and see what other options I have. I was thinking of doing a sleeper car, but I am not sure yet.


Yeah I am going to go and pick up one of those Haynes Manuals, and go from there.

My brother has an 81 malibu for sale. 3spd manual, rebuilt V6 Runs great, 4 doors, lots of rust $500 takes the whole thing.
