Selling my beloved 17-85 lens. It's taken many important photos for me and never let me down. From what I've seen, I think this copy is a cut above the average 17-85. Nice contrast and saturation (though not L grade, but great nonetheless) and nice and sharp. I've used this both in a personal and professional setting, so it's been babied.

Here are a few different types photos I've taken with this lens, to show it's flexibility. Note: NONE of the following photos have been sharpened or post processed at all, except for the b/w conversion. These are the colours and saturation straight out of the camera/lens.

And here are a couple pics of the lens itself:

The ONLY reason I'm selling it is because I've upgraded to it's faster (and much more expensive...) big brother, the 17-55:

Cosmetically, it is mint. It functions 100%. The IS is fantastic. The zooming action is very smooth. There is no zoom creep at all.

It comes with the proper EW-73B Hood, which cost me $50. There is some wear on the hood, but not on the lens itself.

It will be in it's original box and packaging.

I am asking $500 FIRM. It is $749 at The Camera Store with NO hood. With the hood and GST factor, you're saving $354.93!

Located in EDMONTON, but willing to ship.

If you can find a buyer who doesn't want the hood, then sure. Otherwise, I'd rather keep the two together. Sorry.
