Can some engines be weaker from the factory or even lose power below 100 000km?

Sure. Not all engines are exactly the same, and some engines may lose power after 100k depending on how you drive them.

I've heard that in a sample of like 10 cars, 5 will be about average, 2 will be below average or defective and 3 or so will be above average, those which we have deemed a "factory freak" Anybody else hear something like this?

yah my buddies ucles 5.0L is a feak. It was tested by some mustang shop and they said it was the fastest stock 5.0L they have ever seen.
My skidoo is the same way. It a 583 mxz and it is faster than my 670 and faster than alot of newer 700's. I have made alot of sled owners very embarressed when the 583 kicks their ass.
