Want to get grad pics made up, but looking for the correct colour/trim/whatever it is called for B.Sc. in Eng.

Do places like Sears or Walmart photo have these gowns available?

Have you tried Jostens?

During convocation, they'll have something set up for photos. Then you don't have to worry about getting the right colour (http://www.ucalgary.ca/registrar/students/convocation/academic_dress.html) for your faculty.

Thanks I found that link shortly after posting.

I'm not attending convocation, that's why I'm looking for a place to do it either tomorrow morning or in a couple weeks.

You can rent your gown and colour trim from the University for $35 or something. You can do that any day, as long as it's not during convocation week, as far as I know. That way, you can go to whichever photographer you want.

When I finished my undergrad, Lifetouch (the place the U hires out for grad pics) butchered my pictures, and did the same for my friend. :banghead:

I think she rented the gown and went to Sears to get hers done (book an appointment ASAP if you want to go there), and they were very good. Note: Sears doesn't have the gown available; you'll have to rent it for the "official" colour. I went to David Ching Photography and got mine done there (super pricy, but it turned out great).
