Palatal on MacLeod, right by the Soundsaround was not good at all.

My brother and I visited two weeks ago, and it was quite possibly the worst place we've been. Granted it was the end of Mother's Day, and apparently the chefs have been there all day. It took almost 40 minutes for our first order of sushi to come around. When it did come, the sushi was so thinly sliced that in some cases you could actually see the rice underneath it. The rice they used was also gross. That may be because I think they used the wrong rice to make them.

It took another 30 minutes for the second order to come, and again much the same. Our server would also disappear for awhile as well.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite nice though, but a little dark.

Food: 2/5 (I didn't get a chance to try the grill)
Atmosphere: 4/5
Service: 3/5

Gross place, nothing was good, not the "chinese" buffet, not the mongolian stirfry, not the sushi. I'd rather eat at the Mustard Seed, then go back there.

Is that the big friendly guy? The sushi was great the one time I went, but he kept coming to the table and trying to have a conversation with us, felt kind of awkward, especially since my wife and I were talking about something serious at the time.

i know this thread is 2 years old but i think there is a new restaurant/business there, couple nights ago i noticed a green sign with black writing couldn't make it out, raining too hard.

i swear that building is like a curse they change ownership like every 2-3 years, i forgot what was there before, but i know before palatal there was another.

so... does anyone happen to know what the new place is? or pass by there? kinda outta my way maybe someone has seen it. or maybe they just changed their sign? :dunno:

oh yes and Palatal was/is worse than foody goody and home food inn combined, :barf: :barf:
