I'm looking for a '91 civic and I landed on this add here

http://www.buysell.com/root/detail/British%20Columbia/1991_Import_Cars/2132/50916744/1991_HONDA_CIVIC_V_Tec_motor_17_white.aspx

I want to know from Beyond experts, if its worth the price. Judging from the pictures and what the owner has told me, the car to me is worth 5000 at the most, considering it has average or high mileage(18,000km's a yr for average cars). The owner wants 6000 for it.
Here are the information that arent listed but what I got from the owner:

1. B16A VTec engine (160,000km's)
2. 280,000km's on chassis

From beyonders expertise, I like to get your input on this sale and what you think its worth or worth to buy?
Thanks

I would agree with you, 6000 is maybe pushing it a little. Why dont you just go take it for a test drive and see it in person. Make him an offer of what you think its worth and work it out from there?

6K looks like a bit much for that car. People tend to ever-value their cars especially when they feel they can re-coupe the full cost of the mods...

in my opinion, he's selling from mainland BC, and sport compacts go for a bit more in that area. 160k on a b16 is gettin up there, and 280k on chassis is alot. it's kind of a toss up. he's got some work into the car, but i think that you might end up doing some repairs soon enough. at 280k, in an ef, i'd say expect most of the suspension bushings to be done, if they havnt been replaced. there are tons of things you can look for in a car with 280kms on it.. just remember, it has to go through an out of province inspection... and they go through every little thing on the car... the may not pass it with lowered suspension, or aftermarket exhaust, so you may end up having to spend another 2000 to get it insured...

and just so you dont look stupid anymore

its vtec , no dashes, no h's.

I'm thinking of making a $5400 offer, not trying to lowball the guy. Do you guys think the price is right?

Fuck no, you're offering way to much.

Offer him $4800 and leave yourself some room.

I think 5 would be a pretty fair price, car looks like its got a couple of things done to it and looks like a lot of time has been put into it, plus its got the b16.
