Looks like the plan to have photo radar setup along rural highways in Alberta has been axed. Photo radar will continue to be used within cities though.

Cool, I guess. Don't know how fast I'd be going on any road that is considered "rural" though...LOL.

rural roads are quite usually paved (but alot are still gravel). They just arnt high traffic roads.

man lots of the rural highways are in good condition

theres a few I usually go for blasts on that are better than most city roads

districts that currently use photoradar, will continue to use photoradar.

I've never got 1 on the highway but i have got many from within the city, my mistake in my previous post.

rural roads are a great place to to test out ur car... and if their are cops on teh roads to u can normaly see em from way back

exactly, it is a cash cow, and therefore they can not afford to get rid of it. I would rather see photo radar, than regular radar on rural roads, or any road. If I'm going to get a ticket I would much prefer it be photoradar. Photoradar is simply a speeding tax...I don't mind paying that tax occasionally.

yea, I'd rather just pay a fine than get demerits.

It's usually pretty easy to spot photoradar vans/trucks in Calgary too...
