Note:

You are allowed to pass if: 1) there is a single yellow line
2) if there is no line on the road at all

So if you are on a gravel road going 20kmph because you are afraid a rock may lift and hit your 500$ civic. THEN DO NOT PULL IN FUCKING FRONT OF ME WHEN I AM FUCKING TRYING TO PASS YOU YOU PEICE OF SHIT.

SLOWER TRAFFIC PLEASE KEEP RIGHT

THANK YOU

With love,

It's a smart thing to swerve at me as i try to pass?

It was ashfault with a bit of gravel on it.

also i don't think my or his car would be ruined if he went faster then 20kmph however it would if he hit me!

Single line in the city = no passing, however.

20km/hr on gravel is rediculous. I'd be pissed too.

Then maybe he should look where he's driving.

No good excuse to swerve into someone unless a baby just crawled on the road.

Yes... you can pass on a single solid yellow line in urban areas; any urban area. But it is never legal to pass when you're speeding to do so. You can NOT pass on a single solid line (any colour) when you're outside of city limits (any city).

Watch out for the idiots who think that a double solid line in the country means they can pass, though.. I've had enough of those to make me think that they're all actually trying to kill me (as I'm the one they almost crash head-on into). I actually had to drive in the shoulder--thank god for defensive driving lessons--once as a pick-up truck pulling a trailer tried to pass a minivan going up a hill that also curved; double solid for a reason, and *I* got the dirty look and finger?? Scary.
