Just rambling here...

Anyone really considered how awe inspiring say arnold was back in the day, I just finished watching Pumping Iron for about the 9000th time and I came to realize 'damn that is one huge motherfucker'. When in reality I know I'm quite a bit bigger bulked and cutting as I am now I'm still heavier but couldn't hold a candle to that man. Then I looked at friends, weight lifting buddies, guys I powerlift with, if you compare stats, #'s for #'s, theres A LOT of guys even I personally know, probably everyone knows a few that match or beat him easily...

Wonder if he'll truely be dethroned by someone with better genetics than him and what that looks like :nut:
I think you'd be a fucking moron to take the top Pros of today and want to look like them over him...

Take Coleman, perfect example of an average guy given limitless time to train and eat and of course chemicals to play with (oh and cell tech duh). Look at him in the early-mid 90's before affordable HGH hit the scene, he was sub-par at best, an average Pro, no one thought him a contender to be Mr. O even once. But he wins because he has more sponsors, more money, etc. that allow him to chemically push his genes further.

... Ah well, just a hobby for me, real job and all that, limitless chemicals is another story :poosie: hah.
I've touched 280 at 5'10 with visible abs, what'd it take? Upgrading from a 3 to 5cc syringe, HGH, insulin and one hell of a lot of food :D My buddy, same height, who's 305 did the same but he went from a 5 to 10cc syringe (this is per day btw). A white male usualy tops out just shy of 220lbs of lean mass regardless of height unless hes a genetic freak of nature. And by tops out, I mean at 40 years old, whats Coleman now? 43 or something?
It all comes back to genetics though, I was just trying to make the point anyone can be the next coleman, anyone can be huge, but how many Arnolds will there be eh. If it were as easy as a syringe or a fist full of Dbol and Winny, they'd be everywhere by now.

My advice... stop watching that movie its depressing  lol. This forum is slow as hell, so there, discuss. :whipped:

i'm a little confused about what this is about cept for the title and i'm going to agree with it. genetics are a bitch. i've been lifting and increasing my food intake for a good couple weeks now and i'm still 123 at 5'10.

Its that me and you will never be arnold nor any current pro I've seen ;) I could make juice come out your ears and you'd be bigger, but not arnold. Been looking through some pics of up and comers (not the porno) still just a bunch of kids with money.

Always good to see when I make a post the # of people in the forum goes from 0 to 10 or so haha say something, I'm trying to stir up some talk here.

I think you all just sit around and search '+1-Cent +Clen' or '+1-Cent +Winny' all day sometimes until something new comes up  hey at least I'm honest.

More people seem to be lifting, exponentially more people are using gear, wheres the next Arnold? No right or wrong answer just a... discussion?

Wow only a couple weeks and no one will see results. Putting on weight is a career its something that takes a lot of time. I've been working out fairly hard for a year and taking creatine protien glutamine and eating regularly trying to balance my meals and i still have had a hard time increasing my weight by any substancial amount.

Meh, I'm bored tonight :D On topic, I actually am incredibly strong, musculature wise, but I just can't seem to drop the body fat despite diet changes, regular excercise, a physically intensive job, and a clean lifestyle (no smoking/drinking/drugs) :dunno: My genetics are a bitch in that I can metabolize incredibly fast, but my body fat doesn't wanna go bye bye.

Arnold never took steroids? I was about to buy Pumping Iron from Superstore for only $3.99. It was only in the VHS format so I passed.

he took steroids like candy and has admitted it...

"In his public comments over the past three decades, Arnold Schwarzenegger has wavered in describing how often he used steroids and whether he considers the drugs dangerous. Below are quotes from interviews and other sources:

To Barbara Walters, in 1974 at the height of his bodybuilding career: "I take steroids because they help me an extra 5 percent. Women take the (contraception) pill. They are somewhat similar. I do it under a doctor's supervision."

In the mail-order pamphlet "Arnold: Developing a Mr. Universe Physique," 1977: "Yes I have used them, but no, they didn't make me what I am. Anabolic steroids were helpful to me in maintaining muscle size while on a strict diet in preparation for a contest."

To Playboy, 1987: "I don't worry about it, because I never took an overdosage."

To USA Today, 1990, shortly after he was named chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports: "It was new then. There were no laws against it. I experimented with it. I'm instinctive. I felt right away it was not a real thing. I felt something in my system didn't belong there. I quit."

To U.S. News & World Report, 1992: "In those days you didn't have to deal with the black market. You could go to your physician and just say, 'Listen, I want to gain some weight, and I want to take something.' Then the physician would say, 'Do it six weeks before competition, then it will be safe.' And that's what you would do. The dosage that was taken then versus taken now is not even 10 percent. It's probably 5 percent."

To eighth-graders at a school gym in Bismark, N.D., 1992: "We have to rely on a permanent fitness program that makes us fit for life, rather than the temporary high that you get with drugs."

To the Saturday Evening Post, 1993: "There is no one who has ever gone the long haul relying on drugs. That extra 20 pounds that you may lift from using those steroids is not going to be worth it. But you will know when you get sick and when the side effects come out. I think it is very important that someone like myself who has been there gets that message out."

To the Los Angeles Times, 1996: "I used steroids. It was a risky thing to do, but I have no regrets. It was what I had to do to compete. The danger with steroids is overusage. I only did it before a difficult competition – for two months, but not for a period of time that could harm me. And then afterward, it was over. I would stop. I have no health problems, no kidney damage or anything like that from using them."

The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, by Arnold Schwarzenegger with Bill Dobbins, 1998: "Certainly, as someone who is in a position to influence young people, I want to make my position very clear. I am absolutely against the use of these dangerous and illegal substances."

Via Schwarzenegger gubernatorial campaign spokesman Rob Stutzman, 2003: "If he knew then what we know now, he wouldn't have done it."

did his kidney's fail? was it from the lifestyle and supplements or some other disease?

Something I noticed a little while ago and it is clear in the pictures of flex and arnold. Arnold biceps were HUGE compared to his triceps as opposed to flex and even coleman whose triceps overshadow the peak of the bicep.

To me that seems a little weird. I know the tricep is the bigger and stronger of the muscles but for looks the bicep is the more dominant and eye catching.

Also what has happened to the slim stomach? I remember reading about the stomach Vacuum and how it was a common technique used to slim the mid section during posing. Does this not happen anymore or are the competitors bellies just that much bigger these days. Hell colemans abs look almost even with his pecs on most of his profile shots.

Arnold was amazing, ive seen that dvd quite a few times as well pretty good motivation. i love the rivalry he had with ferigno. you think with the amount of drugs coleman is using tho its going to catch up with him sooner or later.

Steroids DO NOT shrink your penis, they will however make your balls shrink.

People who think their penis will shrink are fucking idiots.

The reason for the ball shrinkage is decreased testosterone production, because of all the extra testosterone you get from steroids.

For future reference, the word testicles has to do with your balls, not your penis.

His dick is small because he was born that way.

Fucking Genetics. I have been working out for 6 months now, I had a 10 pound loss and then a 14 pound gain, but I am still tiny. I went to my doctor for a check up the other day and I was told flat out that I may get stronger but I will never be big. I'm 5'9 159 lbs.

Creatine works well, but if you are looking into putting on weight do what I did. I quit my manual labour job, took a sales position and have lots of business lunches. In 3 years I went from 155lbs to 196lbs.

Hey boys, sorry for the absense, came down with something my doctor diagnosed as 'servere allergies' which over a month actually turned out to be severe neumonia. Spent a few days in the ER, few days in recovery and I have one left I'm told.
I'm back on my laptop so if theres anything outstanding we need to talk about, shoot me a msg on MSN; I'm not going anywhere haha.
There was a problem with a few Edmontonians which looks to be resolved as well, I'll keep a closer eye on it.
