Honda D16 "ticking" sound

What would cause my engine to have a ticking sound under the valve cover. ive been told older d16's have this problem can anyone else give me some answers towards what it migh t be. ive also been told that it could be sticky vavles?

You could have gunk in there causing lashing. Either take the cover off and clean it up or put in some additive in your oil to loosen up the crap that's causing the noise.

Is there any additives that you would suggest im going to try that before i take the cover off and clean it out

Valve adjustment, look it up, many Honda guys have writeups on how to do it, doesn't take long, take your time and get it right, it will go away.
