So I have been looking for a new Digital Camera for awhile. My 3+ year old Canon A60 Powershot 2mp is finally starting to kick the can. It served me well.
I recently found out that through my work I can get a $320 HP Photosmart R725 for $169 on Staff Shopping Day discounts. Now along with a $150 rebate through HP Retail Rewards... it turns out this $320 camera I can get for about $40 after taxes and everything. Not bad, especially since a student needs to save all the money he can.

Anyone have any experience? heard anything about this camera?
Thanx. Hopefully I can start posting in the "post your latest" threads. :)

Hmm...I dunno about hp. Hp cameras are cheap for a reason. I haven't had much luck w/ them and haven't heard good things about them either.

well after Everything is said and done... I will only have to pay $25 for the camera. Thats over 90% off. Even if the camera isnt very good I dont think ill be able to buy a better one for $25.

I don't see why not unless you are going to buy a DSLR camera then it's totally different story.
As for P&S cameras, $25 is kick ass deal for student, i'd love to have one for $25

HP Photosmart R725 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/HP/hp_r725.asp)

It's one of those tiny cameras with a cameraphone-like lens. If it only costs you $25, then buy it, resell it, then get a better camera.

Now there is a good idea. Then if your looking for a p&S still you can go for an olymus because i like them. or pentax.

Stick with Canon because you're familiar with how to use it.
