Madrina's Ristorante
Excellent Italian Restaurant in Bragg Creek. Menu includes a variety of pasta, pizza, seafood, veal and chicken dishes. They make all of thier pasta fresh, so you have to wait a little longer but it's sooo worth it!
Open Tuesday thru Sunday.

There is a place up in behind Signal hill called "Why not italian", its in that plaza on Strathcona with the Sobeys and Royal Bank.

I really like that place, don't know how "good" it is, because i don't have alot to compare it to.

I had the gnocci gorgonzola and some bruschetta and it was delicious.

Il Sogno +1000 ...but be ready to spend $100/person + booze.

Buon giorno is also pretty good for a much lower price.

For Pasta, I say you cant beat the price/taste of Chianti's!

Sunday-tuesday is Pasta night i believe, 5.95 a disH!!!! And these arent puny meals either, because you fill up on fresh bread before!

If you are a poor student like me, Chianti's is a dream!

Capo Restaurant in Inglewood is by far the best Italian in Town!!! The chef is actually Italian (actually he owned IL Sogno previously to owning this restaurant - that place has never been the same) The pasta is to die for! And the place is cool and hip - no red checkered tablecloths and murals here! I will definitely be back.

has anyone heard of... Osteria de Medici? my bro saw a bill for a table of 4 ppl coming up to 1000 dollars, and the owners eat with customers all the time.. Its in kensington behind Julios Baros, and near 'The Verve'

^^^ Yeah on the corner right before memorial heading south on 10st NW. Never eaten there b/c a friend who worked there says tons of bills are over 300+ for 2 people.

There is also another good one on kensington RD and about 26th st NW, right across the street from a gas station. It's cheap and really really good. I forget the name of it though sorry.

I was there again on the weekend, great place but big $$. Lots of folks here don't like it as they find it too snooty. But I've always had great service from the staff and the owner is always around and friendly to me.

I did.

one of my faves.

Carpaccio... awesome.

Osteria is a bit snooty, the food is very good but Italian should make you feel good and comfy, not make you feel like you are surrounded by a bunch of pretentious asses. That is what French restaurants are for!! lol

liquidboi69
07-10-2006, 08:16 PM
Rocco the owner for Osteria i heard from my brother is the kindest man in the world. But if u complain about food that is clearly doen right, he'll yell at u right in front of everyoen and kick u out. Thats cuz the money he generates allows him to do taht lol....

Not Chiantis, its not a chain. Small restaurant, north side of 17th, says the specials on the side in white paint, classy.
