This is my first time buying a car, and I would like to know what is the procedures to "get" the car to under my own name?
Assuming I found the car that I want to buy... whats the next step? Dealing with insurance first? Or get the documentation from the registry? I'm not too familiar with the procedures, can someone give me some guide lines?

Thanks

Get a bill of sale, get insurance from your agent, and bring both to the registry. The car will be registered in your name assuming both the bill of sale and insurance slips has your name on it.

Another thing you should do is take the vehicle identification number to the registry and run a check to make sure the car doesn't have any liens on it.

Don't forget a full mechanical inspection of the car before you pay anything by a mechanic. You might be able to combine this with an insurance inspection at the same time.

I thought Belinda Stronach's dad's company was the biggest auto parts provider in Canada.
