Hey guys.. im currently vacationing in China, and there is this mall here in Shanghai that sells alot of digital cameras.

I was looking at a Canon EOS 350D camera selling for 5400 CNY (Renminbi) but like anywhere in China.. there is room for negotiation. My dad is here and is looking as well, so we might buy 2 and get a bigger discount

5400 CNY is about $764 CDN

Also.. what is comparable to the Canon 350D?

Thanks

The Nikon D50 and Olympus E-330 are comparable to the 350D.

Be careful about purchasing cameras from overseas. Some manufacturers here won't honour the warranty if it's been purchased from anywhere but north america.

If you're lucky you might get a month 'overseas' warranty outside of China.

For 5400RMB, is that body only or with a kit lens?

If it is a stock lens kit, 18-55mm then it's not too bad of a price considering the new ones over here are under $1,000

but if it is body only than it an't worth it considering the lens is worth 180

but still I wouldn't buy electronics from china, those pirates items are too hard to distingish from the real ones.

search for the thread with the fake Ferrari that was made in china...
