I recently installed some a windows appearance program (StyleXP) which allowed me to change the background on the Welcom screen.

Normally there's a login screen with multiple account usernames to click on.
Now, there's a popup with a place to type a username and a password.

I have the options of welcome screen and fast user switching checked.

How do I get it back so the welcome screen is there???

Thanks

Ok, what you have to go, is go into the "Control Panel"
And "User Accounts"
Then click on the bar/tab/button that says "Change the Way Users Log On". Then change it back to the welcome screen and not the log in in which you have to input username and password manually....
I hope this helps, explaining computer tech while drunk is a real skill I have mastered.

I have the options of welcome screen and fast user switching checked, which are options under the "Change the Way Users Log On" section.

Also, it says "This computer has been locked" when I try so switch users and/or login.

Use the welcome screen
And try logging in under an admin account for each user and making sure that each account has no programs running under it

I can't get the welcome screen to appear. that's the whole problem.
I am login in as the admin, and there are no other accounts logged on.

Can I reinstall XP? without changing any current XP preferences and without losing any saved data (aka porn...j/k)
Someone was telling me about a Rollback function. any info on this?

And I was told there might be a file missing from my windows directory that involves the welcome screen. anyone know the file name?
Thanks
