View Full Version : FS: '94 VW Jetta GL 2.0L *quick sale*

Well, my friend has decided to part with his baby, a gorgeous 1994 Jetta GL, with optional 2.0L engine (as opposed to the 1.8L), 5 speed manual. Car has approximately 168k on it. This car has been extremely well cared for, as the both the exterior and interior are in great condition. The following items are included with the car:

- 2 sets of rims and tires. The rims in the pictures are very unique. They are rare Azev 16x9 European rims. They are in virtually flawless condition. The tires are brand new, as are the winter rims (steel) and tires, both with at least 90% tread left.

- Momo steering wheel and shift knob

- Brand new JVC MP3 deck (KD-LH810) --> will also include stock deck

The following has been done to the car recently:
- Replaced transmission
- Brand new clutch
- New timing belt
- Installed block heater
- Replaced 02 sensor and catalytic converter
- New distributor cap
- New spark plugs
- more.

I have all receipts for work done.

Oh this must be one of them jetta's made out of gold. Or this is the highest priced 94 non-VR6 I have ever seen.

With respect to the engine, in 1994 the base model came with the 1.8L 4-cylinder engine (CL), while the optional engine was the 2.0L (GL). After '94 they dropped the 1.8L, making the 2.0L the base engine. I worded that poorly previously, thanks for pointing that out.

I have lowered the asking price to $7,000 or best offer. I must have been asleep when i made my first post. This car truly is in great condition inside and out, with 168k on it. PM if you would like to take a look at it. Thanks

Your right, consumer reports says the only engine is 2.0L, but Canadian Driver says there are 3 engine choices. Perhaps the 2.0L being the only engine was only for the states? :dunno:

Now that its all sorted out I'll delete my post incase it doesn't help.

Yes the 1.8L CL was only in Canada and the EU (to my understanding) the US only ever got the 2.0L GL and VR6
