I did pretty good, made it all the way to the semi-finals, eliminated there by 0.1s, so I came in 3rd/4th. Not bad for a Poser AMG!

Kenny, where are da pix? =)

Thanks to Kenny, Jackie, Aerius, and Haysen for braving the cold weather to watch me run! Of course extra thanks to kenny for taking some cool pix in the super cold windy weather.

At one point in the night I couldn't even talk properly as my face was frozen from the cold wind.

Photos posted in Photo section!

I was surprised girlracer stayed that long! It was freakin' cold... but it was fun lining up the cars at the start and doing the ol' arm drop to start the race! just like the illegal street races, except there were corners!

I'm glad you guys had fun. I wish I could have stayed, the course looked SO GOOD! So much organization went into that and then I didn't even get to reap the fruits of my labour :(

Damn you warren, you got me hooked! Great job on the organization. Even though there were some technical problems (stop watch timing on one side, qualifying on one track only) it all turned out pretty good.

Sorry I left so early. If I knew anyone could have raced I would have too! I thought you needed some special license or something. Next time I will go although I'll probably get lost on the track!

I was surprised someone was eating an Extra Large Blizzard Ice Cream!

Yea, anyone can go. Cool thing about Autocrosses compared to drag racing is the fact that you're allowed passengers. Too bad kenny took off for food with the helmet, otherwise I would've been able to give you a ride. Next time I guess... (June 5th) hehe.

Why were they using stop watch timing on the one side? I *THOUGHT* I had both the timing computers running when I was testing them out over the weekend, apparently not.

And what did I tell you guys about it being addictive? :D It seriously gets into your blood. Wish there wasn't so much stuff keeping me away from the track at the moment :( Some things are just more important than racing though.

Oh you mean that Mustang was a Cobra! The one that almost spun out...mustang's are bad for spinning out on fast corners.
Was the Talon the one with yellow rims?

I dunno, something didn't work, and we did 2 practice runs (one on north, one on south), 3 qualifying runs on the north course, then the elimination on both courses, with the south course timed with 2 stopwatches.

It's seriously addictive, especially ProSolo, because you're racing against someone. Definately take the corners a lot harder on the track, and remembering braking points from each run to find the best entry/exit speed without scrubbing off too much mid corner...

My only complaint is the awkward PAX system. I checked my car's classification, and it sits in A Stock, or C Super Stock. The A stock cars are fast, I mean, no way I can compete with a S2000, 911, or even an M3 in my SLK which is in AS with me (I only have 215hp in a 3600lb package). The CSS class is better in terms of other cars, but the index is worse, so it doesn't make much sense.

Kenny's AMG sits in the same class as well, which is more fair compared to the S2K, M3's, etc. That Mustang SVT out accelerates, outbrakes, and outhandles me, but is in a lower class with a better index. I'd rather compare on raw times, but that wasn't available at all last night so I had no clue how I really drove. Oh well... I think I might go back to my stock springs (which I still have) to get myself a better index... car will probably handle better too with a bit more suspension travel, especially on the banking.

Yea, that Mustang was a SVT Cobra, 305hp. The driver is a very good driver too, he got some seriously fast times in Solo2 Event 1. I was expecting to get eliminated when I ran against him, but it was awesome news that I was only 0.1s behind!

You're allowed passengers during Secret Street as well.

When did this happen? We weren't allowed when I last checked a year ago.

Yeah, the index isn't really a "perfect" system, but it isn't bad. Honestly, you are better off going back to stock purely for a better index, unless you want to dump the cash into your car to get it up to maximum prep points. The index assumes that your car is built to the limits of the rules for your class, so if you aren't right at the top of the prep point schedule you are getting hooped (currently my problem, I am a 8 point street prep car, the maximum is 15).
