Calling all racers: your Race City road course SOUTH END best times

Hey guys,

My friends and I do an annual thing where we rent out the south end of Race City for a day.

Just out of curiosity... What are your best lap times for the SOUTH END only section of the Race City road course? This is just the course, no cones or anything else technical added to it.

If you've been on there and got timed, please post your best times and car, with mods and what tires were used if possible. Thanks!!

I'll start:

41.019 (I've actually done slightly better than this but i don't have a record of it)

91 MR2 Turbo ST springs and Illuminas on 16" Ecsta 712s.

The fastest we had was a stock RX8 @ 39.379.

I've only timed myself on the full roadcourse with 1:25's being my best time in a SLK with R compound tires on a "perfect day". When do you guys rent out the south roadcourse and do timing?

We only do this once a year. Yeah it's private thing. Limited cars = more runs. Date varies, depending on when we're available and when the track is available. Enough with that, someone post your times!

I am just curious to know what are the lap times to beat.

Considering most people time the full road course, I doubt you'll have much times from people here on just the south portion.

Ive raced some autox courses on the south end but of course with the additional obstacles my times were slower 57secs - 1:02 IIRC. 1:25 for full course is friggen fast rage.

haha ya that's my best time since I never ran the 944 anything but street tires. Still slower than a Z06 with R compounds, which clocked a 1:23 on a hot day where I was lapping at 1:27. I think on a perfect day with Rob behind the wheel of a Z06, he might be able to break 1:20.

Wow 1:25 is really friggen fast! Heres a link for the first WCMA road course race results. Keep in mind that it poured rain and conditions were anything but ideal, but you'll get an idea of what the local racers are pulling for lap times.
