Ive been passing out resumes to all electrician apprentice postings I find in Calgary, but have not heard anything yet. I was hoping someone here could give me some leads, maybe companies to check out or even places that help you find an apprenticeship, as I am not from here. I dont seem to be having as much luck as I expected. ( 2nd year apprentice with 1 year of school).

Try Allied projects, Flint, Trotter and morten, Unitec, State group. if you're second year i'm surprised you're having trouble finding work. since the hardest part is getting indentured. well good luck

In this market, I think you have good odds. Whats your resume look like? Are you stressing that you want to aprentice with them so that you can work with them while your in school and then when your out?

try custom electric, we are in need of people that actually want to work

Thanks everyone. I tried all of these companies, seems like I call places and they dont know where to direct me. I have a cover letter and re vamped my resume, and everything is in place with the apprentice office, just trying to connect with someone who is actually in the field and hiring, instead of someone who is not sure where to direct me.

Yeah Tarpon hires apprentices, I worked for them till i went to school. The office that hires apprentices is behind blackfoot motorsports.

The electrical managers name is "Rick Crawford" if he's still there.

in most cases the foreman won't do anything for you. we have people come by and he tell's them to go to the shop.

so walk in to the offices drop off a resume, if you did this at custom i promise you'll have a job. if you have experience of course
