View Full Version : 3 Fast 3 Furious Tax for real?

Now that the movie has been out for almost a week, I'm waiting to see if the marketplace will be flooded with Nissan's for sale. I haven't seen any... yet. Not like a movie is an excuse - even before it came out, I've seen people asking $20k plus for a 17 year old car with a 15 year old turbo motor.

Anyone believe in the 3 fast 3 furious tax? :)

I'm wishing I picked up an S13 a few months ago. I bet I could have made a killing off of it. It's unfortunate, but it likely will lead to inflated pricing on the turbo RWD market.

haha, but it actually worked for the Initial D cars. I know of at least one corolla that sold recently for more than it costed brand new! However I didn't see DSM's skyrocket in value after the first two movies. :) Not too sure how Nissan will fare. I guess time will tell.

no way man... the Initial D "tax" was actually a premium, this new FnF "tax" actually is a tax. So now the price of a RWD car is + Initial D premium AND the FnF tax

Don't forget about the hidden costs. It's all in the small print. There's a bow wow surcharge on top of all that.

I dunno man, did you pay any increased tax for your "bandwagon?" haha....j/j

If the tax was solely based on fnf3, 350z's would be the only cars affected lol.

IMO the only car that got put on a pedestal from F&F was the Supra. It's not like there aren't lots of 350Z's on the streets as is.

Yes I paid the tax and collected the tax for the first bandwagon car when I sold it. For some reason those cars sell for about 4 times it's black book value. Not so much for this second bandwagon car though... ;)

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I heard that the RPS13 was going to be the main car in it. Guess I got some bad info.

its hard enough to find a decent 240sx for $6,000ish now days. now all they need is a silvia front end and exhaust, and wheels and they can sell for $10,000 wtf.

i am looking for a vert to come around, and its looking like a 94 will be worth 10,000ish again

I plan on selling my car, maybe, but i have been saying i was going to since before i knew of this movies existance. I just think its time for something new and i want to either build another s13, a s14 or maybe an ae86.

It will take some time. First, the kids that will dish out 10 grand for a stock rusty 240 will be like

-Man, that Skyline sure looked different...
-I think it's a 240SX, they're even awesomer than the SKYLINE!
-OMG, I have to buy one so I can get all the bitches!

I went a second time to see it with my girlfriend and both times I was walking out and heard so much bullshit about what people thought the cars were. Some people thought the FD was a ferrari and some one apparently saw THE SICKEST TALON! It'll take a while for people to realize that it was actually different cars in the movie and not just Skylines and Supras with different bodykits...

i think the movie is in fact a big reason tuning and all the related things about it racing drifting and so on are popular today. :)

Hahaha. I dont know ABout the "Tax" but it was funny opening night after the 7pm showing me and my friends walked around the sunridge parking lot and there were soooo many imports and i swear it took more then my two hands to count how many cars (not just 240sx ) were for sale hahaha. I saw 13 240's and 6 were for sale all over 6500 for a stock one. hahha

PS: I remember hearing sorath ar the angle factory practice last month say that he was going to park his car there. hahah i laughed so hard when i saw it there hahaha. that made the movie even better hahah.

That is because the classic DSM flaw was revealed - When you blow the manifold your floor plates fall off.

No one wants a flintstones car in this day and age.
