Wireless router connect problem

I'm able to detect and connect to my wireless router with my laptop --- I get a full strength signal/ full bars BUT non of my apps are able to connect to the internet. Browsers, msn, anything internet related is unable to connect... but i've got full signal (so it says).

Any ideas about what's going how and how to fix it? Thanks:dunno:

Is your internet connection wep encrypted?
I know from experience that if you type in your wep incorrectly, then it will say connected.

So even if you type in the password wrong the bars still show up like you're connected?

I have WPA selected instead of WEP.

Select WEP, did you try going through the manual? basic but there usually pretty easy to follow.

Steps:

Conntect power to wireless router

Set wireless card on your computer to the same SSID or a default SSID.

You then have to open internet explorer and IP into the wireless router to set it up. ip is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.200

You then configure the wireless router with SSID, channel, security. etc

Reset and should be fine
