For those of you who don't know, making this calendar is a little project of mine that lets me apply photos I've taken through the season into something I can sell. This is the 3rd edition.
I've been working pretty steady this weekend to try and get this thing done and to the printers. There's a lot of work left yet, but it's a start.

Please feel free to let me know of anywhere you'd change something in the design! :)

Cover (my Brother finally made the cover pic  )

Some of the months:

Some of the requirements from the printers are making my color managing complicated.
I have to keep my ink limit at approximately 300% ( +M+Y+K=300%)
I also have to make sure that all my black type DOES NOT have Cyan, Magenta or Yellow in it. This is the part I'm having an issue solving. How can I use the color settings in PS to manage C, M, and Y from contributing to the Black Type.
Here's a screen shot of what I've been trying:

Stellar work as always Graham! Everything looks great. One thing I would mess around with a little bit is the gradient for the "March 2007" especially the center white colour, it almost washes out. I would say make it only 2 colours OR make the white the same colour as the rider's helmet and then darken it a little.

Thank you for the input, I need it. I'll mess with that gradient in the text there.

I worked on a couple more months today

Thanks, it's rewarding once people go nuts for them, especially at trade shows.
They'll be $20, but I think I can work out a special Beyond price.

I only have 4 months left to make and finish up the back cover:

I'm waiting for 2 high res photos to come in from one of the contributors (www.TahoeFilms.com) then:
- Get the finished files to the printers
- They approve the file format, CMYK, etc and print me a proof of each month + covers
- I go in and approve each proof or make an adjustment to the colors
- I give them a big cheque and say 'let's do this thing'.

After that it's about 8 days and I get all the calendars packed in boxes on a crate which I have to pick up. They're about 1600lbs total, haha.

Mid august is the goal to have them done, but it may be the 3rd week in august since I'm down to the US next week.

Lots of work to do preparing invitation to order letters to dealers, prepating my site with new paypal details, getting shipping materials ready, contacting magazines to feature it in, etc.

A wholesale distributor in the US who bought some is using a whole page in their catalog for this, which was a suprise to me. Gotta get a copy of that.

The baby has arrived. My poor bank account, ouch. Hopefully I'll sell most of them again. I'm just waiting on some envelopes from the US.

my site or I can meet you downtown.
I'm working on getting local dealers stocked up. I'll probably have a list of local places to buy them later.
