in car gps via usp port on laptop??

some of the hand held garmin GPS units can connect to laptops via a serial cable and you can use GPS mapping software with them. there are a few standards that these software packages can use


look at what software you're going to use and find a unit that support that communication protocol.

I used a Magellan(?) via the USB port while I was in the USA. Pretty cool unit with some neat software. I ended up returning it though since I never used it all that much.
