Alright, I have a lowered civic EF, with very minimal negative camber. My nexen 3000's lasted me around 20,000 K and 3 months... 2-4 burnouts, mostly small, and 10000+highways KMs.

They are bald on the inside. Is there a reasonably priced tire that will combat this? I know of nitto tires, but I cant find a set for the life of me.

did you have a proper alignment?

a little bit of camber wont cause your tires to wear that fast.

You can buy tires with a higher tread life. Just watch the treadwear rating when you buy. 20,000km is pretty good in my books for tires. That's usually a good couple years of driving for me.

on average most people average around 24000 km a year, for year-round driving. so 20000 on summer specific tires is actually pretty good.

however, do you rotate your tires side to side as well as front to back (on most high end tires this requires you to actually switch the rims the tires are on)

I'd say my 712s have lasted about 20,000km. It's as good as it gets unless you switch to crap-seasons.

Check Toe in. It can wear tires faster than camber.

Performance tires with improper camber equals excessive wear on the shoulder for certain. When the camber is not correct, the weight of the vehicle get absorbed primarily on the shouler edge, which causes exccesive heat build up, which creates excessive wear. Also, being a performance tire, by nature they are desined to heat up more than non-performance tires. Sticky equals traction. And if you are a faster driver (not just aggressive), the tires heat up even more...

You can help it a bit by rotating your tires much more frequently (every few thousand km's) but it will always wear faster. If you want to maximise treadlife, you need to install camber kits and have your alignment set properly. This isn't always cheap though, so you have to decide whether or not you want to invest in this type of solution, or invest in tires more frequently...

check your toe in glenn, i'm about to do the same, get a wheel alignment when u get some new tires, i have very minimal negative camber and i've got the same thing, i think it's mostly from wheel alignment

Get the print out showing the numbers. make sure the toe in is 0 or as close to 0 as possible.

After I get new tires, of course :P.

Ill pick some up after my car decides to move, and get an alignment,
