im thinking of buying a celica gts that someone would most likely be willing to sell for $18,000. It's a 2002, 96xxx km, fully loaded w/ every option, lowered, silver
Does this sound like a fair price for one, or should i keep on looking?

lol :D
can anyone tell what those rims are from the picture and how much the price on them is?
another question i had too is, the cars got the E-shift automatic. i'd rather have manual but this transmission works pretty well since the buttons are on the steering wheel which i thought was pretty cool. I know people that do a lot of work on their car almost all have manual transmissions. would it be too weird to do any work to a car like this which has an e-shift transmission??

Don't get auto man, you will regret it later.
Oh and your pic doesn't work for me, am I the only one?

the e-shift works pretty well tho, well i donno I thought it did. Like its not one of those tiptronic ones that automatically makes u shift if u near redline it, but im gonna misss the shifting on my civic lol.

does this work?

i've driven both the tiptronic and the e-shift, and neither of them compare to a manual transmission......

DO NOT get an auto. Celicas power comes in strong mostly from ~5700-8000rpm (like VTEC in hondas.) If you get a 4spd auto instead of a 6spd close ratio standard, you'll be losing tonnes of speed.

People on NewCelica.org forums even say that the GTS auto is slower than the GT standard. And I believe it...

If you look at the 0-100km/h stats on msn auto it says it takes ~9.18 sec for the GTS auto to get from 0-100km/h. Thats horrid...compared to the GT standard that takes 8.04 sec. 6 spd std GTS goes from 0-100km/h in 6.6 sec...

You'll be losing out on the lightweight flywheel, 6 speed close ratio tranny. Therefore, you'll have crappier throttle reponse, and when you shift your RPMs will drop way out of the powerband.

I have a Celica myself and researched greatly before I got it, and if I were to choose between a GTS auto and a GT std...I'd pick the GT. E-shift's just a gimmick to lure people in, don't fall for it.
