oh yeah sorry i should have clarified.

will have to be recleared by a body shop :) well unless you are mighty handy with body work.

More then likely they will end up reclearing almost the whole quarter panel or all of it(least that is wher eit looks like the problem area is)

yeah you can just do a spash of clear and then a shitload of wet sanding and polishing

Your sure your car doesn't have single stage paint on it, could have been repainted.
How did you manage to cut through the clear anyway by hand ?
Must have some pretty powerful arms...:)

Anyway, if you did cut through the paint you will need to get it recoated again with clear and have that whole section blended in again.

Let us know what happens, 3M products are pretty good, but the prices are outrageous....

If you need more info let me know

to repaint its gonna cost me a fortune so im thinking of getting some striping done to hide it

i still cant see anything even with the arrows lol. usually what we do is get some fast one shot type of polish and go over it slowly a few times with a polisher, im sure it will make it better so that you wont have to get it painted or put a decal over it

yeah, you can really see it. but i think that the strips will hide it

i think your going to need to clear the burned area, just out of curiosty how did you mange that 3m isnt to crazy of an abrasive. But ya i would get it recleared and buy and old door and practice on that before working on your paint. Sorry to see and hear the bad news but it can be fixed with a ncie paint shooting
