Is it worth spending the money to raise the value of my house?
Its wood siding right now, pretty nice however.

I've never heard of that being even remotely worth it, unless your siding is already damaged to the point of needing replacement. Upgrade your kitchen, bathroom, landscaping, garage, basement in that order.

Why not just pretty up the siding with fresh paint and maybe some new trim and accents etc??

Stucco doesn't really add value

Stucco doesnt add enough value to bother. Besides, wood siding is MUCH nicer than stucco or vinyl siding. I'd just paint it if you really feel the need to change something on it.

Yeah if you want to have to repaint it every few years.

If you PAINT it with latex, yes. But nice cedar siding, oil stained every 5-10 years looks best IMO. And you can change the color to a degree (the con of vinyl siding).

stucco is very pricy but it will last a long time.the bad about stucco is in the summer time your house gets hotter.would or vinal/metal siding wont last as long & provides shelter for bugs, flys, ect.

I thought stucco provided the best insulation winter or summer :dunno:

There are certain latex stains that have up to 15 year warranties to not chip, peel or fade for cedar siding. I run a painting company, i would know ;)

The siding I have right now is very nice, doesn't need paint, but I love the look of stucco:drool:
