Best ice cream place in Calgary?

I've only been to a couple of places for ice cream (Marble Slab, Baskin Robins etc) so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the best places for ice cream here.

I love licks. I never got a chance to try "my favourite ice cream shop" before they closed. Went there 2 weeks ago and its some restaurant.

Buy my personal favorite is DQ ice cream cakes, or licks blueberry.

I'm not a big ice cream guy but even I love that place. It gets busy as hell though & isn't cheap but good food never is.

But in CGY, gonna have to give it up to Phillip's, and sometimes the Baskin Robbins across from it is good as well :thumbsup:

There's also a Phillips On Northmount. It's awesome. A couple weeks ago they had pre-packaged litres of ice cream on sale for 2 for $10. We ended up getting 4 :D The Jack Fruit is very good. So is the khalua fudge. We also got black licorice and bordeaux cherry. They were good but the black licorice was loaded down with dye and did funny things to your bowels.

There's also a licks on 16th AVe in bowness (or maybe it's the one on memorial?) i just know it's around Bowness area. Its right beside "A Driving School."

If you want Mackay's and don't want to dirve to Cochrane then go to BON TON MEAT MARKET across from foothills hospital on 16th ave NW.

They have 1/2 litre buckets of Mackay's ice cream, with most of the popular flavors.

AS an ice cream lover, and being that i have visited 90% of the Ice Cream Shops in Calgary, i would definitly say that Phillips on 17th is the best, and has very good prices for what you get as well!

My favourite Ice Cream Shoppe is great.

We bought our own ice cream maker Cuisinart at Costco for about $60.00 it's totally worth every penny. Its the smoothest ice cream you can buy. I make mine from a custard base. It's fabulous. Lately we had fresh berries from the garden to toss in as well.
