Don't tell me to search, fuck off....

Looking for someone who may have dropped by a few of the local tat places in town to check out there work.

Did anyone or does anyone know of any good places that do some very good auto related tat's? I know some people take on specific things, like portraits or such so wondering if someone out there does sweet auto work.

Thanks everyone!

The answer to all things tattoo in Calgary is Smilin' Buddha Tattoo. Paul Jeffries is one of, is not THE, most widely recognized gods of tattooing.

I don't think you'll get him to do anything small (and certainly not cheap) but the point is, if you can book into his shop it won't matter who there does it - it'll be of superb quality. I can't imagine any slouch would have a chance at holding a needle there.....

Also, a good shop/artist will recommend where you should go if they don't feel that their personal style/specialty can satisfy your needs.

James Tex and Chris Goldberg (dunno if hes still there) @ Bushido are some of the best I have ever dealt with.

But a friend of mine from toronto will be coming out here in september for the body modification show. Chris Moniz. Hes fucking amazing, heres a sample. (you might not like it, but it shows talent for sure)

The guy that does all my work is at Smillin' Buddha his name is Scott Ford he is amazing. I am going to see him again in the next couple weeks and I would recommend him to anyone there isn't a tattoo I wouldn't want him to do. He is the only artist I would let touch my skin.

Dont mean to jack this thread, but since this is where the current tattoo talk is going on I thought I would post here.

I have a tattoo that I got on my shoulder that I got quite a while ago. Time and exposure to alot of sun have caused it to seriously fade (it was black and now looks blueish/grey). I want to get it re-colored in/sharpened up, but I'm pretty sure most the good artists wouldnt want to take this kind of job. I would just go back to where I got it, but the guy that did it and ran the shop is no longer in Calgary, and the shop seems to have fallen apart with the replacements.

Any idea of where to go?

On another note, I'm planning on getting a new large tattoo on my other shoulder, and I was thinking that maybe if I planned one with a talented (hard to book)artist, he/she may be more willing to re-color my other one as well if I get them both done within a close timeframe.

Most tattoo shops will take on touch-up/recolour jobs without any hesitation, you might have to negotiatie a price tho. And yes, a tattoo artist might be more likely to take on a re-colour if you were getting another tat as well. maybe not in the same day, but chances would be good.

Casey at Living Color tattoo is pretty good. he did all my buddy's tattoos he does some good work too. He worked at the buddha in the past. He operates in calgary, tampa and somewhere in europe so you have to call ahead and see if he is in town.

James Tex just opened his own shop called Deadly Tattoos. Also hit up Doug at Bushido... just about finished my 3/4 sleeve done by him and its sick. He is a crazy good artist and probably the nicest guy you will ever meet.

I wanted to get a tattoo, but could never come with that one thing that I'd really want to be on my body for rest of my life. So I just keep on post poing the idea, until I find that one thing that I REALLY want.

Please tell me you are not getting the BMW symbol anywhere on your body. I know you are one of those guys but come on, that is just plain gay.
