Air Conditioning Recharge

Any recommendations where to go for 134a recharge or hook ups :D

AutoTemp recently refilled the AC but I have a feelilng they didn't do a pressure test as I requested so I am assuming there is a leak or I hope only just a few o rings need to be replaced.

It worked great for 5 days... :(

I'm not going back to AutoTemp. It's just not worth the hassel.

Autotemp warranties for 30 days, go back and get it looked at. You already spent the $$.

Er, if you don't mind doing it yourself, look at Fort Garry Industries out in the Foothills and buy a recharge kit called RedTek.

It's a replacement for 134A and R12 and if you use it properly, you'll see average AC temps of -10F lower.

We use it in all of our company vehicles. I've also used it in two of
my personal vehicles. The shit is great and cheap.

Can do a car for around 90 bucks... That comes with all the necessary hosing, instructions and it even stops slow leaks from your a/c system.

i have some r12 recharge cans from the 70s :nut: freon is illegal. R134a is whats used in newer cars after 1995 model year. Ask for R134a or redtek, make sure they hook up the H and L. Recharge is like $80

Partsource sells those kits as well. Now, keep in mind... it is a 3000 PSI pressure hose. This is not stuff an untrained person would not want to go near. I refused to sell it when I worked at partsource, it is essentially a bomb.

i heard that freon (r12) is like gold in mexico. the best is to take some bolt cuters to a A/C line. 3000 psi no doubt. Or to unscrew the nut from the canister (kaboom) if your inclined to decharge your system. Don't get that green shit in your eyes
