Leaving for HK real soon, what would or do you usually bring/do during a long ass flight like this?

Just thinking about it makes me feel bored and my ass sore already

One issue of Top Gear just isnt going to last me 15 hrs hahah

who are you flying with?

i was out in vietnam about a month ago
and i also did a 18 hour flight to auzzie

if your with signapore air or one of the better ones you get your own TV with like 60 movies and 40 super nintendo games some family guy episodes.

i just didnt sleep before i left and then slept for 8 hours on and off watched like 2-3 movies and took advantage of the free alcohal, but if your on some ghetto airline i feel sorry for you.

Ipod, noise reduction headphones, pair on mirror sunglasses and any pills (motion sickness, gravel) that induces drowsiness

That's what I did on my flight.

Yeah an ipod would really make a flight like that seem shorter for me. Too bad its battery wouldn't last the whole time haha.

pull a 3 day bender off beer and coke and sleep it off during the flight, or get a copy of every mag out there

Grab a couple issues of FHM, Maxim, and another good magaziine. Load up your MP3 player with various tracks. Stay up all night before your flight and crash the minute the plane takes off and you'll probably not get bored at all.

IncredibleToad
07-17-2006, 11:55 PM
i need to crash after i transfer onto the flight from vancity to HK....meaning id hafta tough out the calgary to vancouver flight prior to passing out on the 2nd flight...ugh

Make an ill-informed attempt to set your shoe on fire.

...in all seriousness, take a book or 2. I reccomend picking up the full 5-book set (or one- book compilation) of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, assuming you haven't read it already.

get a porn mag and hopefully there is a chick sitting nex to you and she is a hottie, when she leans over to look at what you are reading she will become aroused and you will join;

What airline is it, IncredibleToad?

If you're with Singapore you won't be disappointed. So much to do, so little time!
Everyone gets their own little tv with remote/SNES controller like mentioned above.
I had so much fun! Plus the airhostess chicks are hot!

Get an Archos AV500 or AV700, and load it up with episodes (full hour-long episodes) of Top Gear. :)

EDIT here's my AV700 playing some Star Wars:drool:

Nintendo for sure, or read a book, but the best thing to do is sleep. I was on a flight to Mexico and for some reason the plane was really empty, I had like 3 seats to myself, just layed accross all of them and slept for the entire trip :D

I heard somewhere that excessive sleeping on flights cause severe jet lag in some people... not sure how accurate that is but just putting it out there

Actually, I conducted a test and found that my mini can do 16 hrs on a full charge

I just ran the ipod for a day and when the battery died, I checked to see which tracks were the last ones played and calculated the time.

bare in mind, there was minumum lcd light up

IncredibleToad
07-18-2006, 12:17 PM
if anyone steals my peanuts there will be hell to pay

i think ill go for a few sleeps and a good book or two, plus those in-flight movies but if i had 15 episodes of top gear that would make this the shortest flight ever

If you have a laptop, you can get one of those battery extenders from Best Buy.

It gives you about another 3.5 - 4 hrs of laptop time.

So turn off the wifi card, screen on low setting, watch movies on your HD and not the DVD rom and I'm sure you could get a combined total of 5 - 6 hrs of power

Since you prob seen all the top gears, d/l some Fifth Gear

Depending on what nationality you are or what language you can speak, I also have a bunch of audio files that teach you how to speak Mando or Canton

Mando has 3 parts with 30 chapters each at 30 mins a lesson...
Canton is 1 part with 30 chapters (this one if funny because they teach you to use 'okay la' and 'okay or')

Grip172
07-18-2006, 01:07 PM
i'd probably whip out my ipod, watch soem porn and beat it

If you are going with someone else, bring a travel edition of scrabble.

And like everyone else said, just bring your ipod/books and a portable gaming system.

Suck it up and stare at the back of someone shead for the 15 hours. Its fun, really!

Hit on the air hostess'.

Ask to see the cockpit, talk to the pilot. Ask which air hostess' hes banged.

Go to the bath room for about an hour and see how many people line up to wait. Then do this again in another 3 hours to beat your old record.

Help clean up.

Start talking to random people.

Beat it.

Play with children, then explain to the moms how you were at the Neverland Ranch for XX weeks and you LOVE kids.

Make car noises the whole trip and pretend you're flying the plane.

Print out the 30+ paged val thread in Ask Leo and read it.

Go jogging...

get a laptop, a plane inverter. most business class seats should have a power plug so you can just sit there and play movies, videos, games etc. heck you can problably play quake 4 or something all the way there :D

I went to the Philippinnes and I flew with Cathay Pacific. They played 3 new released theater movies and some TV while I was on board. Other than that i listened to music and read a bunch of tuner magazines.

or a smelly german dude that likes to fall asleep on your shoulder

but yeah get a good book and read + some tunes, i don't know if you'll be able to use your rokr in the air because it's a cell phone. Magazines get really old really quick, especially car magazines not a lot of reading

You can
A) Count how many are line dup as you leave.
B) Open the door half way with a weird face (while counting how many people), then say "Oh NO! I gotta go AGAIN!! When will this stop?!?!?!". Repeat.

:)

Unless you are in business class, no.

Planes also use a special plug for power. It's not like a cigarette adapter either...

Like I said in and earlier post, just a battery extender. Tho they are about 150 bucks
