Can you tell if valves are bent by looking at the bottom of the engine head?

By looking if the valves aren't seated properly you mean? Depends on how badly they may be bent.. if you can see they aren't sitting in place then they are way off.. They could be out by such a small amount you wouldn't see, I'd tell you to do a compression test, but if your looking from the bottom you cant do that now can you...

Another safe bet is to look at the pistons. If they made contact, there will be marks there as well. Just to be on the safe side I'd replace any that made contact, regardless if they look properly seated. Or just replace them all and go with something aftermarket if you're really worried about them. It's a good excuse to upgrade. :thumbsup:
