what are some good break kits.

i realize after lastnight going 180 and having to put on the brakes although it did stop very very good, i am interested in getting a new system

what kind of brake kits are out there for a gen 4 prelude? shadowz? i have seen a few things but i dont understand how prices can be from 500 - 2500.
i realize some of that is cause there just roters and some are full piston grabbing kits new everything...

but ya whats good, whats not

$2500 is probably the big brake kit which consists of rotors, brake pads and calipers!

would the cross drilled/slotted with good brake pads make it worth spending the 500$?, cause if im going to drive fast, have all these mods to make me faster i want to be able to stop myself

what should i be considering? (did you do anything to your brakes with the s/c lude?)

I just got some Brembo Slotted drilled rotors and KVR carbon brake pads for the front and rears

Anyway, its the calipers that makes the huge difference. That is why they are so expensive!

AEM big brake kit great stopping power and very stylish, but that is a more expensive option

Actually, its all about lever arm :) Bigger calipers + big rotors = mAD st0PP1ng pOWaz y0!

Seriously though, uprated calipers are good on their own, but for maximum effect they should be combined with a matched rotor.

crossdrilling rotors = less stopping power 99% of the time
slotted rotors = increased pad wear

both of these will crack and fail with heavy use.

what to do for cheap: brembo stock replacements and have them cryo treated and use hawk hp+ or carbotech panther + pads with a good brake fluid of choice ( i recommend ford heavy duty dot 3 on a budget or motul 5.1) with steal braided lines.

haha Audi Kid, me and that black talon/lazer were both doing 180+ was going back to my buddys house
that is actually as fast as i have ever drove myself, i shouldnt have done that without a radar detector but oops..

that car hauls ass i was on the gas and the car just would not stop gaining speed like crazy, i didnt even make it into 5th gear and than i had to stop pretty fast and move over to another lane to get away from the car that was infront of me..


shadowz what am i looking to spend to get better stopping power? from basic to the AEM kit? somthing thats going to actually make a difference.

Get better tires. Tires stop the car - not brakes :thumbsup:

In brake upgrades what gets over looked is the master cyclinder - Can it handle the pressure?

the options from myself and redline also from theoters are very good choices for stopping power its really up to how much you want to spend. because even the heaer methods will do the trick

If you can afford it, go with Enless Zeal calipers and rotors....sOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet and used on a s#it load of Japanese race cars!

The AEM Big Brake Kits are nice! They Fit Perfect, and come with all the hardware needed to bolt on...

but I still like to eat with a pair of Spoon's...:bigpimp:

Ive got some Acura Legend front calipers and they work pretty good and were very inexpensive. I got them at A-1 honda parts, all in with pads I think I ended up spending around $250.
