They made the Turtles look a bit skinny and it's a bit cartoonish as well, I kind of liked the more serious tone of the older movies...but other than that looks good.

I'm a big fan of the old live action movies as well.

That said, I think animating this movie will allow it to be very stylish shifting it away from a 'kiddie' appeal. I'm sure i'll be seeing that in theatres, lots of good TMNT memories from my youth. I only had every toy.

This one is done by eastman and laird, the guys who penned the original comics way back in the early 80s.. and did the first movie, so its going to be a darker style. The turtles actually have a stunning resemblance to the ones from the comic books, especially when they were just silouettes.

Man, I've watched the TMNT movies a couple times in the last two years after a long hiatus, and I'm surprised by how dark they are, I loved them. It kind of bothers me that this isn't live action, but I'm sure it will still be entertaining.

I think it's better that they did this one in CG. They can do so much more with CG than with live action.

I dunno, I was pretty disappointed with it. I was really hoping there would be more there for people who were alive when the FIRST movie came out. I think my buddy and I were the only people 20 years or older in that theatre (Excluding parents).

It had no lack of style, the art direction was amazing and the CG was jawdropping in some scenes (better then The Incredibles at times) and the fight scenes were great. The story had a great concept but it was just poorly written. I know they wanted to keep it kiddy friendly, so at times it was just kind of insulting my intelligence. It could have been a waaay better moive.. but at least the kids were having a good time! ahaha

Hey i would have to agree with you...the idea was good, but the story line was weak...and plus, there was not one "TURTLE POWER" in the whole movie...

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with it. Kids loved it though but I think it's more of a novelty thing. April looked good but looks like ElastiGirl and Winters looks like Mr Incredible. Story line was weak, don't know why they didn't just stick with the traditional stuff. I think the producers missed the mark with this one in trying to satisfy the old crowd as well as attracting new. Don't know why they didn't just stick with the old formula and improve on it. This sure went off on a tangent!

I thought it was a pretty good movie. Very entertaining. You don't go to watch Ninja Turtles for plot.

Got back from the movie...

It ROCKED. From a reader of the old comic books, this was a huge throwback to the darker, more gritty style of Turtles that was in the books vs the happy cheery ones in the cartoons (the cartoons rocked too, btw). Sure, there's no heavy plot, but this movie delivers in that it's not MEANT to be plot heavy. It's a damned good, dark, funny movie. Oh, and Michaelangelo rocked, as per usual.
