Just check http://autos.msn.com

They show the specs of all cars for all years...including drivetrain info.

The 8th Gen Accord (MY08) will be the one to replace the current 03-07 Accords, the current generation is 7. I've owned a 6th gen J30A1 Accord (98-02) and I can guarantee there is no such thing as a manual Accord with a V6 in that generation unless someone swapped a 5spd tranny into it (4spd Auto only). The 6spd manual in the current gen was introduced with the 03 Accord with the J30A4 and is borrowed from the CL type S (which in itself only received the 6 spd as a MY03 model in 2002 so there is no way the 6th Gen Accord could have had a 6spd option as a 01-02 model).

I know how you feel trieuth, the 6th gen Accord (best body style of all gens IMHO) got alot of flak because the only way to stir the stick yourself on that gen was on the I4 (5spd). At least they listened to the gripes of enthusiasts on the 7th gen.

I've only ridden in a 98 Accord with the 5spd and the 150hp F23A1, it's peppy and enough for daily driving, IMO it arguably handles better stock for stock than the V6 model as well. It's not really enough juice to get the blood flowing though if your an enthusiast. Good thing is if you can pick one up for a good price you'll have money left over for some performance mods. There actually is a member on this forum who swapped the F23 for the H22 engine from the Prelude as well as popped in a turbo so I'm sure that car's got some pep. You could also look at swapping the J30A4 into the body of a 6th gen Accord, never heard of that being done but that would be nice! You could swap the manual tranny of the 7th gen Accord or CL into the 6th gen V6's or even the 5spd from the F23 Accord, but I think turning any car from auto to manual has got to be very time consuming and expensive! But I've read a few people in the states who have done it.

Here's a good thread describing the procedure of a manual swap (5spd) into the 6th gen Accord I4. If you search around the internet you might find some stuff on V6 tranny swaps:

doesn't the states have 5/6 spd in their latest generation of Accord... both sedan and coupe in V6 configuration.

The latest generation yes, but not the 98-01. The only available 5-speed was with the 4 cylinder engine for 98-01. Which is a shame because I thought it was the best looking accord made to date.
