Nope, I believe that it's still the MKIII supra with the single ct26 turbo...unless he got an upgrade?? hahaha,

Wait a minute....when you say TT do you mean Targa Top or Twin Turbo?? :dunno: :dunno: cuz if you meant targa top then disregard what I just posted!! hahahaha:rofl:

it is an upgraded turbo, targa top, i think they only made a twin turbo in 93 (before switching to the new style) it was called a 1jze engine, right before the twin turbo 2jze engine came out in 93 1/2.

and bump

They did make a TT model of the MK3 supra in 91 called the Supra R I don't know if it was Japan only but i know it was made

North America only got the 7mgte from 86.5-92, and the 2jz from 93 to whatever the last ones were. We never got the 2.5L tt

What do you ppl think of the price?

jdmakkord

From my expereinces with supra turbos...the price is reasonable. If the J-spec motor is strong, with the metal head gasket done right, it'll boost nicely! With basic bolt ons like intake, exhaust ur looking at 260-270hp.

j-spec vs usdm spec?
is 1.5mm thicker then stock = lower compression to boost more?
or what?

jdmakkord

metal head gasket is almost necessary with those motors. The arp bolts and that should amount to a bulletproof motor.

1.5 mm is thicker then stock, that head will be bulletproof.
im pretty sure he was runing 1.5 bar or 1 bar boost on the old engine, and that thing was scary.
it has intake and exhaust, i couldnt even guess the power though.

If that car had the 1JZ-GTE engine that car would be amazing! Friend of mine is considering doing that swap in his 88 Supra Turbo.

The 7MGTE isn't a bad engine either....lots of people have built them up to phenomenal numbers but it's basically a truck engine with a turbo slapped onto it.

That 1JZ engine however....2.5L turbocharged with a redline like my hatch! DAMN! I wanna do that swap in my hatch!

How do you figure its a truck engine with a turbo slapped on it? Hell ask nosoup4u what these motors can do, I remember his old 86.5 that used to pull pretty damn hard.....;)

That's a myth. The 7M was never spec'd in a truck.
