Well If I had a moderate amount of excess money (and being somewhat realistic) I would like to do this;

Drop this engine;

Into one of these;

I have always loved GT40's, it's about 40,000 US for a custom chassis and GT40 kit,and about 7000 US for a RB26DETT then all the fab work. But I realize I could just get a skyline for about the same price, but cant register and insure a r34 here in Canada so....the GT40 might have to be reneamed GTR40, hehehe...sorry if that was a dumb joke.:dunno: :nut: :rofl:

I know I could make it work too! The idea is not that unfeasable fab wise. Just need custom motor mounts, custom intake, etc, transmition would be the hardest thing. Plus the GT-R engine is lighter too.

But you'd lose that cool Nascar sound of the GT40!

LUDELVR was being sarcastic.

Ya you are right about that. Nothing like the sound of a roaring V8 with big fat individual carbs. The RB would be pretty loud too since there would not be too much rear distance for the exhaust, but they have the GT40 down to 2300lbs minus some interior immenidies with a V8. Skyline engine @500-600Whp/Wtq + 2300'ish pounds of a car......mmmmmm.....Cops would be like...."Oh Shit?!" (buh_buh's voice). hehehe.:burnout: ;)

What made you think that i wasn't joking too? THat was the point of the smileys :D My car ain't turbo yet but once i get my G20 in there it's gonna put out about 300whp so then you'd better hail it and bow down :angel: But let's not highjack the thread...i think that'd be a mad idea, but considering all the hassels and the expenses of making everything fit plus the price of the GT40 wouldnt it be easier to just buy a skyline? I dont know the prices so i might be way off on this one...Oh yeah sorry about above quote on the hp. Forgot the one. My bad :banghead:

brings about a good question:

if someone gave you an RB26DETT, but you didnt have the proper car to shove it in...would you still try to put it in your car?

HELL YA! It does fit in my 240 actually, all you need is a custom or greddy intake, and the skyline front sub frame bolts up. Wiring is the hardest part.

The s13's, s14's, s15's and skylines are built from the same chassis with different modifactions.

Maybe I'm just an idiot or something but isn't the rb26 carry an awd tranny? I'm a newbie so don't flame.

The motor is mounted longitudinally in the chassis, with a seperate tranny and transfer case mounted on the midline of the car further back, a typical rear wheel drive/all wheel drive setup. The transmission is not underneath the motor like a front wheel drive. The motor will bolt up to the tranny in the rear wheel drive 240 without any trouble.
