doesnt look bad at all. Nicholson seems like a good "Sam"

I wonder how close they'll keep it to the OG storyline. they still have the arm cast

Meh I like the original better....whats up with Hollywood re-making all these Chinese movies...first Legend Of Speed = Fast and Furious then Il Mare = The Lake House and now this....

You know it's sad when Hollywood has to copy Asian films when it's been the opposite for decades, LOL. I prefer the original much better. The original meshed triad, drama, and suspense much better than what was presented in trailer for The Departed. The Departed seems too "Hollywood" for me.

wow did they have to copy some scenes to the T like that scene with Leo with the cast on his wrist is the exact same as when TonyLeung had his as well
and i see a rooftop scene and when the inspector gets tossed off a building as well... LAME :thumbsdow
btw i thought Brad Pitt was cast for this movie :dunno:

The original movie ain't bad. This may work but the trailer isn't doing it any favors.

At least they got the star power to get people curious. It's not that easy to get Jack out for a movie these days.

The original was great. I hope they don't screw this one up...

They don't call it a remake for nothing.

I can't judge whether the movie will turn out to be as good as the original just from the trailer, but I still think it'll be interesting to see how they remake it.

EDIT: Is it just me or is it easy to confuse between DiCaprio's and Damon's face?

Yeah I heard about that as well. Didn't he buy the rights to the original or something like that?

the chinese version is an awesome movie..i just watched them again not to long ago..but this white version doesn't seem to bad..i'd watch it

well if there's infernal affairs..then they must be coming out with the sequels as well since there were 3

/\ i think they prefer it to be called western version hahah

and i doubt they'll do the sequels cause the 2nd one was just a rip of godfather. Though Francis Ng was wicked in it

and im sure we'll all agree the original was great, but i think this one will be sucessful due to the names attached and good storyline.

The remake of The Ring was entertaining...

this remake doesn't look that good. I don't even know if it'll work in the western market. Infernal Affairs was so good because the battle between the Triads and the Police is a cornerstone of HK sub-culture. When the movie was released it was new and fresh, no longer was it just Cops sending undercover agents to the Triads, it was the other way around as well.

I guess we'll see how it goes.

The original chinese version, can you get it with subtitles? is it a famous movie over here? or is it just all the people who are talking about it are chinese?

Man I can't wait I loved if and from the sounds of the budget this should be good. I'm assuming they aren't going to mess with the story too much. Nevertheless it will be interestng to are what they do with it.

Yes, it's released by Miramax. It was one of the very original, well produced HK movies in a LONG ass time.

If you plan to watch it, make sure you watch all three movies. It describes the before and after of the 1st one in more detail.

jumping on the bandwagon

its always good to see elisha on screen yet....

Actress Elisha Cuthbert, best known for the television series "24" and films such as the less than spectacular "House of Wax", is apparently in final negotiations for the lead role in the upcoming Hollywood remake of the Korean smash hit romantic comedy "My Sassy Girl". The film, directed by Yann Samuell and produced by the dreaded Roy Lee amongst others, sees the titular girl turning the life of a guy from small town America upside down with her wacky antics. Production is set to start October 16th.

Hong Kong actress Charlie Yeung (recently in "Seven Swords") has joined the cast of the upcoming "Bangkok Dangerous" Hollywood remake alongside star Nicholas Cage. The film is being directed by the Pang Brothers, who were also responsible for the original, which was the tale of a deaf mute assassin who travels to the titular town to perform a hit and falls in love with a local girl. Yeung is said to have already flown to Bangkok to learn Thai as well as some folk dances for her role. Filmining is set to begin in Thailand in mid-August.

... girls comes into guy's life and turns it upside down. Something happens and they spit up. In the end they get back together.
For sassy girl, in a weird bizzar way that involved an alien.

Wasn't that called Girl Next Door, but with porn?

My Sassy Girl would be a bad remake. It would be straight to DVD because North Americans ain't that sappy.

It will be worse than Lake House.
