so, im not sure if there someone on this board who is a painter.
I took my gf moms car to the shop to get an estimate on the paiting of the hood and the front bumper, to my surprise they wanted 900+ dollars for this two pieces.
Back home there are lots of people who are really good with paint. It will be going on a stock paint car (metallic blue) and i was wondering if someone here would be willing to take on the job.
Just the paint on the hood and on the front bumper.
i can be contacted via PM or on my cell 589 9187
thanks

Call me crazy, or naive, but most places are 3-7k for full repaint. How can someone do it for 900?

I've had some of those cheap paint jobs done and trust me, you get what you pay for. If I had a old ass beater that still had a decent engine, I would probably go for a $900 full body paintjob.
But $900 for a hood and bumper does seem to be high.

crymson: it is not a full body paintjob.
But i should be on my way later today to pick up the finished product. I will be posting pics of my 380 dollar paint for the bumper and the hood.
Oh and btw.. i took off the bumper of the car myself (16 screws + 4 pins) and the hood (4 bolts).
And now all i have to do is get the locking mechanism for the hood release out of a junk yard.
+-400 is not bad for all this.. i sure as hell beats 1100 for paint and 300 more for labor (taking off and straightening)

you only paid $400 because they just sprayed the hood and bumper. for $900 they were probably going to blend it into the fenders so you get a perfect match. i GURANTEE when you put on that hood you will see a differnce in color from the hood to the stock color fenders, expecialy because its a metalic. but if your not picky its a good idea

It's only gonna cost $250-350 for the hood and $350-450 for the bumper... I've been looking at these for a friend earlier and that's about the ballpark. National was the cheapest, while Woodridge AutoBody is in the middle of the range. Both body shops do satisfactory work; however, as said previously, you only get what you pay for! Good luck with your finding!
