19 year old dies after boyfriend shows off prelude

they put up flowers and cross yesterday in raddison heights when a 19 year old guy in a 1988 honda prelude takes the turn too fast and goes straight into a tree. girlfriend was crushed and airlifted and later died.

At 2130 hours on 2006 July 26 a single vehicle collision
occurred in the 2600 block Radcliffe Drive SE. A 1988 Honda
Prelude travelling west and then south through a curve on
Radcliffe Drive went off the roadway to the right side and
collided with a large tree on the boulevard.

The passenger, a 19 year old female, suffered critical head
injuries and was transported by STARS to the Foothills
Hospital where she continues to be treated. The driver, a 19
year old male, suffered less serious injuries and was
transported by EMS to the same hospital.

The investigation is being handled by the Calgary Police
Service Traffic Section. Charges against the driver are
pending.

the other thing is I noticed is when building that new school they dug up parts of the road for sewage/water and repaved it. the repaved part comes to the side he was was too so probably also hit a bump.

i went to highschool with both of them, one year younger.

i dont think they were going out, they were best of friends and even moved out togther. I did hear that he was drinking in the morning though and waited a bit to sober up.

That's the second parishoner from that church to die in the past several weeks. The young kid (Pawel Pawlicki) who died in the stolen car rear-ending was from there too. I'm an organist there, and will be playing at her funeral. I didn't know either of them, but it still hits close to home. I really hope this kind of thing stops some day. A friend and I were extremely lucky to not be hurt when I did a similar stupid thing 2 years ago. I am forever grateful that I got off very VERY easy. It's definitely unfair that the driver always comes out unscathed, and I would not have complained even if I had lost a limb in my accident as long as my passenger was ok. I know how you feel man, i had a friend die about a year and a half ago from heart complications. its the weirdest thing deleting that person on your msn contact list, out of your phone, and knowing you'll never speak to them again. its tough.
