I have a 2k1 R1 and I love it. It really comes down to personal preference, both bikes kick ass, and are miles beyond my capabilities (and I have a pro roadracing licence). The decider for me is that the R1 is SOOOOOO badass looking it's crazy... The GSXR has much more "sedate" styling. They're both amazing bikes!

No offence luke... you have no idea, with the KLZE you will run high 15's. They only give 10 more whp then your stock engine.

I am shooting for high 12's this year. Cant get my tranny modded before this year is over. So if I make it or not is up in the air. The tranny can hold 480lbs of tq... So here's hoping:thumbsup:

well Sinister is doing an engine swap, and that could be classified as a mod that COULD lower you 3 seconds. It just wont unless he puts some serious cash into it. No idea what the other guy has planned.
But just for advice, you dont drop seconds when you go to Mission. Maybe a .2 if you are lucky. In my opinion anyway.

I dont think anyone realizes how much money/time/effort it takes to make a FWD car hit 13, let alone 12's.

To get into details... My motor will be done in a month give or take a week. Stock engine is out, and last I heard my flywheel crossed the boarder. Was waiting for that for a long time. But ya yada yada should be putting down about 300 + whp this year.
But I cant afford to do a custom tranny this season, so i dont want to push it any higher cause I dont have that much money kicking around after all this shit I just bought.

Look out for by buddy in the blue chevy "farm truck" - his blower is bigger this year. He will be the truck to beat on friday nights - I would be suprised if he wasn't deep into the 11's. That's fast for a street driven truck! :thumbsup:

Sinister is a good guy, I am not trying to poke fun. Just sometimes people over rate the engine they are swapping, cause they hear its 200hp ... or what ever. You need some mad power numbers/suspension setup/skills/and tires to get around low 14's.
I remember that guy with the blue turboed teg, he had 350hp or something I heard. He ran a 14.8 when i raced him. The best he pulled that night was a 14.5. Then someone with driving skills brought him into the 13's.
So 350hp got a light weight integra into the high 13's ... so people need to realize it isnt easy. including me :D

Perhaps it's because it seems like he hasn't learned his lesson from the past... When he owned his rx-7 he claimed it was a peripherial ported, No2 breathing machine that would run him easy 13's .... Now for the sake of argument, perhaps he had some sort of new fangled port that allowed his idle or purr like a kitten but still gave him loads of power, and his no2 system was hidden real well to keep from prying eyes, It still doesn't explain the fact that he was running 18's and 19's down the 1/4... amazingly enough, even after making runs like that, he still spouted off about having a fast car...

Seems like he hopes that the probe will give him better luck down the track..

Haha everyone that is hoping to run 12s is just setting themselves up for a slap in the face when they take their cars to the track and pull off that blazing 15 second run. The number one thing I notice is people talk about gaining so and so amount of horsepower and assumes it automatically translates into lower ETs but one thing is left out of the equation: TRACTION!

However, have fun! can't wait to see some 12 second runs (and even faster) as I'm sure SOME people will pull it off and provide some great entertainment hehe

It's hard to say, what Kenny stated above is a lot of people say their cars can do it and they cant in real life, so if I ever hit 12's it would be nice but I'll never say it would untill I did, maybe next year, but I can say 13's for sure.

I just got a new turbo and I was going to make it into a hybrid, but the shop said they could'nt anymore and other shops want to charge 1K to do it, so I will just run this turbo and save some money. Also I wont be fully dialed in till june probly, some mods I have are not ready yet.

What do you mean you need mad stuff to get 14's? I used a completely stock 2.2L engine(block, head, intercooler, turbo, intake) with a 3" exhaust, 20psi and Canadian Tire 225/50/15 tires to run 14.2, on 91 pump gas. The only sort of expensize, $400, equipment is my Eibach springs. Full exhaust was $350 installed with muffler. Boost controller was $50. My dyno #'s were 209Hp and 260ft.lbs to the wheels in a 3100lb car.

The Civic made it's fastest run, 13.5, with the owner sitting in the stands. And I highly dought that it was 350hp, maybe 250.

I remember watching this last year and laughing my ass off in the stands. He just couldn't figure out how to get traction in that car no matter what. Didn't it have nitrous? It seemed like he kept hitting it at the wrong time and melting the tires.

I'm glad this post turned out to be a bash on me post for all you haters out there SUCK IT and thx to convict for backing me up I bought the car with most of the interior the way it is the decals I did my self and most of the dress up stuff I did my self so the money spent on the car to make it look as eye-irritating as it is was very little. as for the engine swap we are trying to do a klje swap its a mazda mpv 2.9 v6 supercharged motor if the mounts can be done its a done deal if not then the klze will be done and a little no2 the car should do high 14 or 15 depends on the weight. I might of spoke highly about the rx7 But It was a nice looking car and at least its not a POS

im running a fully built motor, bored .30 over srp 8:1 compression pistons, ported/polished head, crower valvetrain, hks drag manifold, garrett t25, blitz electronic boost controller, hondata 2B, RC 550cc injectors, skunk 2 intake manifold. any other questions ill glady answer,

oh and i have no doubt i have one of the best tuners working on my motor for me.

Are you sleeving this motor cuz if not, stock sleeves + 15psi boost + .30 over = cracked sleeve.

I would ditch that turbo also way too small and is this a talon t25?

ya its been re-sleeved and ringed.
thats the turbo im using for now, when i have more money ill do an upgrade. i just wanted to get it running for now. im only gonna run 14lbs, i believe that 15lbs+ just blows hot air.and ya its from a 97 talon.

its gonna do what i need it to do. it gets boost at 2600rpm and peaks at 4200rpm. holds 14lbs to redline.

everything is set up the way it should be. ive taken even the littest things into account. and thats wh yim positive that it will be fine at 14lbs.:thumbsup:

Yup I don't care about your interior, but you said you will be running 13's, and now you say 14's or 15's, which one is is? There is a big difference. I will never quote what I think my car will run, I keep my mouth shut and run it, then once I have a few time slips under my belt I can start talking. Your just asking to get burnt by estimating times so early.

Kronyk never ran a 16.1, and a fellow probe owner was running Cold Air Intake/ P&P head/Header/Full Exhaust. The best he could pull was a 16.3 ... So I hope you the best but it isnt as easy as it looks like it will be :thumbsup:

It doesnt really matter, I'll be at the track so I'll see first hand what you run, then we can argue. If you run the 13's you want I'll be the first one to shake your hand, the more quick cars around the better. I'm just sick of people exagerating how quick there car actually is and you don't have a very good track record in that department so you were an easy target, don't be offended I mean no harm.

Sinisters 1/4 mile hopes are about as exagerated as the decals on his car...the best I've ever heard of a jdm klze running was a 14.3 and that was with a 75shot of Nitrousand at sea level..have fun

K I'm stepping in, Sinister it's obvious they are picking on you because your car is done up they way you wanted it, so don't let that shit get to oyu too much becuase what u like is more important than what other like. But you kinda brought it on yourself by saying your car will be in the 13's originally and for a FWD drive that's pretty optimistic from a 200hp motor with mods, redline can say what we wants weather he has a car or not.

Crx eh? lol man Redlyne is going to laugh when he reads this, first off you are giving out random numbers such as 13 blah blah blah, well youre going to get burned for it buddy, no matter what, it doesnt help you drive a probe, before you start calling out people to the track you should just keep it to yourself and prove it to them at the track and then put them in their place, but IMO Redlyne would kill youre probe unless it is highly modified, and believe me a motor swap and some juice in most cases does not prove to be a 13 second car. But good luck and smarten up cause youre just ruining your own rep by calling out anyone to a race

WEll if he has a mr2 then I'll shut it now but accoring to his profile it says he has a crx hence the comment. And I did not spout ramdom numbers with the motor swap the car will be faster then stock and faster then it is now so thats all im going to say. I well be glad to take it to the track with the new motor and see what it does and after i will post my slips if its 18 second car after I do the swap so be it. I just hate the haters out there that will bash and bash all day long with nothing to back it up with. so no offence to anyone on the board any I look forward to seeing some of you out there at racecity this year.
