hehe only the true enthusiast can appreciate it. Fanboys like me will prefer the current generation of Porsches. ;)

What an incredible car.. I remember them when they were new. The F40 kinda stole it's thunder for us teenagers, but the car's accomplishments stand for themselves...

Time to hunt around under the cusions for some spare change! haha

I am surprised that no one is going to import 959 to Canada?

Or there are some of them here already? those cars are over 15 yr old now, and they are not that expensive now, around 150,000 GBP .. ( $300K cad  )

Anyone knows any 959 in Canada?

Bill Gates and Paul Allen both own one, they didn't have a problem importing them, but they aren't street legal in the US so neither of them have been able to drive them

959s have been street-legal under the "show and display" law for quite a while now.

Gates tried to get his in before the exemption was made, and did not succeed.

Really? wow . I would love to see one ..

I know there are lots of "KIT" car 959 .. which they are still based on the nice 911 ... and very hard to sell .. since their interior are near the same .. :dunno:

I saw few of them in the US ... HK .. UK etc .. but then I found out .. most of those "959" I saw .. are just KIT cars .. :(

Actually, Gates did have a problem bringing it in and is responsible for the creation of the "Show and Display" expemtion being created.

There is a 959 currently available in Toronto. Imported recently from a collection in Japan, it is one of 6 Komfort models.

But isnt there a mileage limit that comes with that Show and Display law? its a pretty low limit.

I've always loved that car. I remember I had my first Porsche book when I was like 10 and they had a whole section dedicated to that car. It was love at first sight.

You have to love 'quasi-street legal' and 'Porsche' in the same sentence.

there were 2 in Canada when they were new, one in St Catherenes ON and 1 in Montreal

I have some brochures from when I worked at the dealer and they did crash test them ...just not 4 of them for US laws
