Hey guys.

On September 16th, I've organized a drift competition and practice with the StreetWheelers Car Club. I am going to try to let the drivers have as much seat time as physically possible (because i think that's what it's all about), and then once practice is over, we will proceed to run a drift competition (if we have time after the competition I will go back to practicing). The competition will be ran in Tandem Format (that is, one car VS. another car) but not actual running side by side (I wish I had insurance for that). Once one car is done, the next will go immediately, and judges will decide which of those runs was "better". I think this will be an exciting format. I for one am excited to see how it turns out. And there will be prizes for the winners. :bigpimp:

Come on out guys, check out what this drifting is all about, if this event goes well there will be more to come.

Thanks to Louren Sansregret for doing the poster (and you too Braden, Louren offered to do one too, and his ended up being pretty good, i still love you).

I'd also like to thank IMPORT CONCERN for their sponsorship of this event, as well as MAK CUSTOMS out of Lethbridge.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions/comments.

Thanks,

Chris Van Gaalen

Well if you sign the waiver i can arrange that. I will only be doing a few laps for showoff, lol.

Good news though, the track is now being held on a bigger parking lot at the same place, so i designed a new track that is much faster/challenging....should be very exciting.

Chris, if my car breaks down, can I get a tow back to AD?

I realy hope I can make the event still, nagy got the fc running in tip top shape but joe said it leaks too much coolant to tell if I damaged the headgasket or the side seals, i dont think theirs anything out of the ordinary though its always been like that and I've been drifting it for the past 6 years:dunno:

calgarys13
09-11-2006, 12:29 PM
yah watch out for blown head gaskets on rotaries!rolleyes:

schurchill39
09-11-2006, 05:34 PM
 hahaha

I'd be a little worried about the coolant leak though, thats definitly not something thats supposed to be happening on rotary engines.

Whats going on if it rains that day, I checked out the weather forcast and they are calling for rain thrusday, friday, saturday.

rain + drifting = better angles for the under powered boys

event should still be on, and i know christian, braden and I will be heading down there no matter what

canadianskyline
09-12-2006, 12:00 AM
Yeah, event is still on in the event of rain, im hoping for no rain....but if it does happen we'll try to make the best of it. We have a bunch of tents that can be set up.

crazydave

its quite easy comming from calgary.you come in on the number 3(crowsnest trail) keeping going on that all the way through town almost until you see a turnoff for 43rd st. GO SOUTH. head down 43rd street and you will see a big grand stand a horse track follow that till the set of lights and a there is a right hand turnoff for southparkside drive. take a right onto south parkside drive. go one block to the first intersection, then take another right.follow that and you will see a huge parking lot.go into that parking lot.

me= your map quest.

Haha, ya man, why not? If it will go sideways and you'll have fun then do it, i was hoping to see a couple muscle cars of some sort there. Just make sure you dont go too crazy if you havent done any drifting before, i dont want to see anyone hit a pole or anything. :)
