I'm thinking about buying a 1992 Lexus ES300. Can you guys tells me pros/cons of this car? (ie. expensive parts, high insurance, breaks down easily, prone to problems after X amount of KM's, etc.)

Thanks! :)

I'd opt for an LS400 if given the choice. You're looking at a 4.0L RWD luxury sedan versus... an overpriced camry with leather.

Just my $0.02

I m proud owner of a tanned 1992 Lexus es300. Owned it for 5 years now...bought it with 219,000kms on it.. now at about 300,000kms. Never had any major problem atall...and above all i have not driven it all that nicely...got kick ass power in it. Yea..sorry i have had two issues with it...radiator leakage...but luckly it was rite on top so couple'o radiator seal plaster worked like charm! Second one was rear struts gave'up on me but i guess after so many clicks that's gotta happen. Thats it dude! They are real cheap rite now...get ur hands on one. Good looks + excellent power = great purchase!

ES300 is the FWD version, with e 3.0L V6 engine. Supra's don't have V6's and aren't FWD.

When i was looking at that kind of vehicle, i chose the legend instead. I do like the es300 (my friend has one), but its too carmy like. Other than that, its a pretty reliable car and has some nice old school luxury items. Over all its a comfortable car and good to drive around town in.

You can't compare the Ls to the ES... LS cost twice as much even used...

The ES300's engine is very reliable, good power for city driving and for passing if needed.

With a good patience and some research, you can turn the ES300 into VIP-style cruiser.
