Hi guy's

Well... I got the go head from my wife to treat my self to a new car..FINALLY.:D

Our family business has been great this year and i want to treat my self to something nice. I am giving the BMW X3 to my wife to drive.

Anyways i been looking at the new Audi RS4, it has a V8 with 420HP. I allways wanted to have an audi. The dealer quoted me $98,590 for one with all the options.

Now, i am thinking for that price is there anything else out there i could have? I been looking at the 2007 Porsche boxter S, 2007 MB SLK55 AMG, BMW M3, it is a hard decision to make.

Do you guy's think the RS4 worth the money?? I'll be doing more looking around this weekend. Any beyond.ca guy's opinions would be great.

Cheers,

Fcuk

Personally i think the RS4 looks amazing and im sure the interior is even more amazing however for 98,590 i think it's a bit steep for the car.

I like your other choice though, 2007 MB SLK55 AMG :)

The M3 isn't a bad choice either but for that price your willing to spend on the RS4 might as well kick it up to M5 :)

Good luck with your choice!

Had I that much $$ to spend on a car I would get the RS4 for sure.

Both Automobile and C&D had 4+ page articles of the RS4 in the last month...
maybe those could help sway your thinking?

a friend of mine has the older RS6 and he loves it the only problem is there is only one tech in calgary that can work on it. i think the new RS4 is a f'n beauty car :hitit:

Go drive em all man, thing is the RS4 would be the win in the winter as well, probably a good bet for your all year driver...what kind of business do you have?

Thanks XylathaneGTR,

I have not had the time to do any research on the car. I been working like a dog for the past few months. But i will try to pick up the magazines. Thanks for the heads up.

RS4 is in the top of it's category for price imo...and all the cars you listed.

I would probably find myself deciding between a porche 911 carrera, and the RS4 in my top two in that price range (even tho you didn't list the 911)

We own a manufacturing company. Had the business for 18 years now.

I would buy the Audi. Besides the fact that it's an amazing car it suits the Calgary climate. It's the only car on your list that you can drive year round.

Depends on what you want. Is it to be a summer car mainly? Cuz if it isnt the RS4 would be an awesome pick. I wouldnt pick up a new m3 just cuz I think you'll take a pretty big hit with the new one coming around soon.
For a summer car, the SLK55 amg wouldnt be bad either

Id probably pick the RS4 though just cuz you can use it in winter too. And 4 door practicality

I prob. won't drive it too much winter time. The reason is we have our own company trucks(Ford F-150's) that i drive around winter time. But if i am going to a business meeting i like to drive in something nice.:)

Well I wouldn't mind an X3 hand me down.... I think RS4 is a hot car you like it and you can afford it go for it:thumbsup:

i'd say wait for the new m3 coming out, but my parents used to own a 05 bmw m3, theyre a fun car, but arnt winter driveable.
personally i've heard nothing but good things from audi,
family friend has owned audi for the last 5 years and hasnt said anything bad about them. And the audi is the only driveable car in the winter you listed.
but the Bmw X5 had problems, Our friends owned one, and it was in the shop more than it was driven, Bmw's quality has gone down :thumbsdow

If you're not going to drive it at all in the winter I would look at the Porsche Carrera line (as mentioned above). The problem is that the options add up quickly, and you always want next model up.

The RS4 is so sexy! I agree with what that one guy said - in this price range I'd be looking at either that or a 911. And contrary to what some people think, you can drive a 911 all year round if you have a good set of winter tires. Oh, and if there isn't 4-feet of snow :nut:

Focking rights man! I'm happy for you dude. You are so right for rewarding yourself hehe

Decisions Decisions Decisions

SLK55 AMG. Retractable hardtop convertible. It's like having 2 cars hehe $95k out the door

Any idea on when the C63 AMG is coming out? 510hp! haha Horsepower wars, good for us consumers

What about the M-Roadster? I would prefer the M-Roadster ($80K) over the Boxster S ($95K). Both are amazing cars no doubt but I'm not sure if the Boxster S is $15-$20k better, know what I mean?

I've driven a audi RS4 recently, my buddy got his hands on one. and i've driven a SLK55 AMG before, my ex's car. but hands down i would go for the audi.

it's very smooth and sooo easy to drive. but it doesnt look to wild for it's price, but then, once you hit the S button that thing is meaaaan at full throttle.

:D there is a guy down at the montgomery/bowness area that drives a 911 even in the winter, and the car still looks great. i personally would be buying the rs4. :D i'm a bit biased towards it because i am personally looking for an older rs4 lol

RS4. Rare on the roads and it's still a head turner. Can't complain about the AWD either. Looks really good. I'd get one over your car choices that you listed.

i Would definately think twice about the RS4 not because its a bad car, in my mind its a well built machine and is probrally worth every penny but one thing that you have to take in to consideration is the avalability of the car because from what i heard there have been people on a waiting list for about a year and some of them still arent guaranteed a car. Just a thought before you are seriously looking in to the RS4.

Only other thing I can really thing of is a used Mercedes E55amg, like justa couple of years old. The ones iwth 469hp/516lbft toruqe. Don't buy an M3 because new ones are on their way. Other than that, RS4 all the way - I don't know how easy it is to get a test drive in one though, but you know its gunna be good!

Go for it! The RS4 is such an amazing machine that v8 is nuts it delivers 90% of max torque between 2200 and 5500 rpms or somethin like that!!

Cayman S would be an excellent choice. $100K out the door. OMFG it's so sexy in Black or Meteor Grey Metallic. :bigpimp:  :burnout:

IMO you should get a two seater. You already have the weekend go out with friends/bar star vehicle (X3) hehe.

Man I wish I had your dilemma ... which $100,000 to pick. It sounds like you worked for it though, and RS4 is a excellent choice. But I was watching some Canadian car tv show a few weeks ago and I remember hearing something along the lines of a one year waiting list for the car.

:werd: good problems to have.

I have a friend that works as a driver at an audi dealership and he's driven the RS4. he was telling me how amazing the ride was. he probably could have taken u for a test drive if u were in toronto.... but anyways, sounds like it's well deserved, good for u

check out this video

it is from a thread earlier this week. It will give u an idea of the comparison to an m3. I would still go for the m3 though, but that personal opinion.

The RS4 was one of the nicest and most enjoyable cars I have ever drove, even if it was just for a short time. :hitit:

From what i know there is a HUGE waitlist for the RS4 out here, you will be really lucky to find one.

you could pull up next to a muscle car with that motor and show them up with looks and performance!

This interior Reminds me of this Carlsson Mercedes i saw, except the Carlsson is much much more sophisticated and racy... but still the buckets and beauty remind me of the Carlsson.

I was at Glenmore Audi. And yes there is a very long waiting list in Calgary. they are all special order. The dealer told me 7 months, but they think it will be sooner than that. I will talk to the sales rep. again this weekend to get the delivery date.

 You guys talk like Calgary has 4 feet of snow in the winter! The only thing to worry about in the winter is the rock chips, pretty much every car is winter driveable in Calgary except for the 3 weeks of snow we seem to get each winter.

Who cares about allwheel drive etc... you just need good tires. That being said the Audi is a sweet car, I'd go for that or the slk 55. Or spend a few more dollars and get a cls55 or cls63 and show up to those business meetings in class. :bigpimp:

IMO, you cant go wrong with any of those choices, enjoy your new ride!

Thanks,

Maybe it is not a good idea for me to rush into first production of Audi RS4's. I allways had bad luck with new production cars. Maybe it will be better to wait and see if they are any problems with these cars. By than Audi can fix these problems while mine is being built.:)
